  1. Frost crack - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG How about this?
  2. Under tarp they would probably go mouldy & rot especially with the weather atm here. If doing that would at least need to keep them off the ground maybe it could work if you used the hazel tops as a brash mat etc or they are up on bearers & not make the stack too big/dense.
  3. I have a spartan I bought from lidl a really healthy tree & a reliable heavy crop, the apples always look pefect & blemish free, but I don't like the taste of them much for eating & they store bad , I think they may be good choice for apple juice though. Almost like a gala supermarket apples as in sweet but very bland flavour RHS has a good guide: https://www.rhs.org.uk/fruit/apples/starting-an-espalier
  4. Stick them in a shed lent up against a wall etc should last about 3 or 4 months without drying out to much.
  5. Least the roof looks like tin rather than an asbestos one?

  10. Hmm all thoose bomb craters will make good habitat at least & so will the mine fields as it keeps humans away some still left from WW1 according to the link. Chernobyl site a good example of nature benefiting from disaster i'd image the war could have some similar benefits as well as the negatives with regards to nature. How Chernobyl has become an unexpected haven for wildlife WWW.UNEP.ORG Many people think the area around the Chernobyl nuclear plant is a place of post-apocalyptic desolation. But more than 30...
  11. Ok so whats with the high stumps?
  12. That vine or what ever it is, is would make any tree go scraggly? Looks like the neighbour has eucs already. Yew maybe or bay as recommendations.
  13. MM106 is a larger rootstock for a space thats looks maybe abit small or only just big enough from the photos so trees will grow big fairly rapidly. See the height scale 5m I like the larger root stocks as trees normally seem more robust & healthy & better roots anchoring mean they don't keel over easily like the smaller ones As peasgood said shouldn't of cut the tips off as ideally you want them as the framwork for the tree like in pics. "Open goblet" struture is what is recommended now they will branch but that can be fixed so no worry just dont cut the tips off again etc.
  14. Looks abit weird with thoose high stumps.
  15. Will cut fine using all bar length if you don't force it but not very rapid but neither is a ms181. Its 2KW so might actually be faster than a ms181.
  16. Or the makita same one is £160 so cheaper. Makita UC4051A/2 Electric Chainsaw (Corded 230V) - 14" Bar - Radmore & Tucker WWW.RADMORETUCKER.CO.UK The Makita UC4051A series are the successors of UC4030A series longitudinal body style electric chain saws. The oil...
  17. The corded husky electric one.
  18. Never detered me as a youth peasant but the youth today are probably soft so might work.
  19. Barb wire is standard above most sheep netting but still pretty easy to climb over unless its combined with some kind of tall security fencing? Gonna look like Alcatraz island surrounded by barbed wire & would cost alot? 🤔
  20. Wouldn't get an echo model if its an old one that still has rubber mounts I like modern AV springs. Spring ones: All chassis (exc.1) designed after 2006 do. (In order of apprarance:) 310, 352, 590-621, 4510, 2511, 3510, 7310. Makita 4300 or Dolmar 421 is good shame its gone out of manufacture. Over 10lbs though but at 2.2kw same as a ms241 & was only £250 new at one time.
