  1. Must be a very wide load looks a good space First tree on the left/wind turbine side has already being pruned back before in the past and could be again to the same points without issues reckon.
  2. I have 3 of theese as water butts they were going cheap many yrs ago at £50 each! https://shop.smithsofthedean.co.uk/recycled-1520-litre--330-gallon-water-tank-751-p.asp
  3. Yeah even all the cheapo brands of of the corded chainsaws are say a 2000w 240v motor. So most cordless saws won't cut anywhere near the same speed & not a chance with the budget ones...unless its on very small diameter stuff im guessing. The top of the range cordless stihl MSA300 is 2500w & 36v for comparison. So which one would win at a race cutting cookies im unsure.....?.
  4. Cordless will be a big downgrade from corded in cutting performance.
  5. Not wisteria could well be lilac. Mums know best!
  6. Ive got a handy hollow tree i chuck any dead chickens into.Saves digging a hole or whatever.
  7. Id just trim the tips & any crossing branches now at the height that suits you (Depends on how tall your ladder is for harvesting?) the remaining tree structure will thicken up after a few yrs. Propping up branches with "hazel cloth line props" etc is what I do or you could also consider thinning out the fruit.
  8. Loads of plantations about with the stuff it likes im wondering how realistic it is the above recommendations being enforced and effectively used across the whole area to control it. Could end up like in Germany/europe for the UK....fairly fast it seems? The climate /droughts etc seem critical Fighting a losing battle WWW.FORESTRYJOURNAL.CO.UK The European spruce bark beetle (Ips typographus) has had a devastating impact on the forests of Germany. Rising...
  9. Insider trading ? reuters.com WWW.REUTERS.COM The art of the deal!
  10. Theres some hippy shit going spare in barrels 🙂 Couple who ran Swedish eco-resort say 158 barrels of human waste left behind was ‘very normal’ | Sweden | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Flemming Hansen and Mette Helbæk reject criticism of how they abandoned resort and fled to Guatemala
  11. A digger with cone/screw spitter would mash it up into bits.... Easier plus cheaper just to bury it though.
  12. The Broligarchy are also down , only Buffet saw it coming Bloomberg - Are you a robot? WWW.BLOOMBERG.COM
  13. The gov info mentions stacked wood piles Eight-toothed spruce bark beetle (Ips typographus) - GOV.UK WWW.GOV.UK Information about the eight-toothed spruce bark beetle, including how to report sightings. and that wood under 8cm diameter isnt a problem is mentioned here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/63e3b965d3bf7f17300052c0/Ips_typographus_infographic_FINAL.pdf
  14. Bid odd to plant trees that can potentially grow over 100ft that close to a house anyway.....? The Foilage is s likely become ugly & bare on the house side due to no light from that side & look at how the two better ones have started too lean out away from the wall for the light already....will cause issues in future... Id suggest get rid of the brown one and also consider planting something else more sensible, shrubs ot climbers up the wall perhaps... When one particular species dies in a location its often wise not to replant the same again as its likely the site did not suit the plant.
  15. How about a Muck truck? Whats gonna be planted?
  16. Good vid kind of reassuring, I suppose im abit paranoid. Another issue is I found modern treated wood seems less durable versus untreated larch or oak etc in the ground. New treated fence posts can last less than 5yrs....
  17. I bought this but never have got round to used it yet just used a file free hand Veritas Jointer & Edger | Axminster Tools WWW.AXMINSTERTOOLS.COM Serving the dual purposes of topping off the teeth of a hand saw prior to re-sharpening, and providing an accurate guide... Ive done this several times seems to work ok.
  18. I dont like the idea of treated timber plus veggies No Sawmill scabs about for free? That what I have used in the past but now my local source has dried up. Guy was burning them on a massive bonfire to make space pile was the size of small house so I was lucky to save a few from the flames ! 😬 Larch and oak scabs in 2.4m lengths etc Chesnut poles peeled woud also be good and should be about in france?
  19. As long as they aren't rotten/old thus pretty worthless it shouldn't be an issue. Seasoned wood is harder and blunts a chain very slightly faster. If they are of a large diameter and you have a small cc chainsaw it might struggle more and cut abit slower than if they were still green. If so go easy and make sure the chain is sharp & oiling well. Cross cutting big rounds can be hard on a smaller saw.
  20. Is it like darts do you have 3 or would that end in disaster with the axes getting destroyed in the target??
  21. The T ones were cheaper versus the D style but I had to re- screw on the T tops are many were loose.....just stapled on badly. Very fancy handle on this one and also decent looking long socket for a modern tool Greenman Ash Stainless Steel Border Spade S2468 < Greenman Garden Tools GREENMANGARDENTOOLS.COM A very versatile spade at home, in the border, and the vegetable plot in-between plants where its narrower blade means less... Ash is it gonna run out with adb eventually? Carters seem to be the only UK place still advertizing that they are mass producing such items? They look the same as the ones I bought /images/uploads/headers/_standard/handles_header.jpg Spade, Shovel and Fork | Richard Carter RICHARDCARTERLTD.CO.UK Rowan / mountain ash does it mean the wood has similar properties or might be just the leaf shape? Slow growing though to get many handles from it. Ive seen some garden tools advertized with beech handles, & axes form italy and spain often have beech handles fitted as the norm. Hickory or ash is suppose to best for striking tools due to elasticity properties thus give some anti shock and also osage orange is that traditional wood used by natives americans.
  22. Ive tried several & found thoose machines abit pointless as the bag fills so fast. And if you suck up a small stone it can easily crack the plastic. For leaves on flower borders just imo use a rake to get 95% then finish with a blower. Its always the last few % that takes all time ..... Thats the only place I can see some use maybe of the leaf sucker that last few % of leaves stuck on/in other plants Thats the kind of OCD detail they do in japanese gardens with a big leaf tray and bamboo hand rake For large amounts on lawns best just to mow over the leaves to stuck then up and a bonus is the mower shreads them also reducing volume or use a backpack blower or hand held blower to clear the lawn & pile up leaves then you can pick up or if there really is loads maybe consider the big walk behind billy goat ones.
  23. Native birch can be either silver or downy or a mix as 2 hybridize often
  24. Actually I think you might be right, as the bark has a few white bits and theres something about the way the branches twist thats also birchy.
  25. Alder or black popular Bit of rdm guesses from the branch habit and has catkins
