  1. These are very old Elm , there were screws for a Cider press but have been in this barn for many decades now !!
  2. pretty sure that is Start point / Hallsands ...lovely area !! I dive there occasionally ...scallops , razor clams , crabs and fish ....only on neap tides though or may end up miles offshore in the current !!
  3. I think people declare themselves as woke ...not a label imposed upon them by others .....
  4. I think that is Roundydendron 😁
  5. very true ..labour used to represent the working class ...just about every working class person now bloody hates the ridiculous lefty nonsense ( woke stuff ) and would never vote for a party so aligned with such rubbish !!! Boris will be a tough man to beat !!!
  6. well said ..so many bleat about terrible contractors but there are plenty of just bloody awkward customers !!!
  7. I have had a few examples recently where neither the Council ( highways ) or owner admits ownership of road side trees , because they are large Ash with ADB which is an awkward situation and I am sure will keep cropping up !!
  8. I have one ...not used for towing , just tools and a bit of dragging on occasion , use it for leisure stuff a lot , kayaks , diving gear etc very practical vehicle ....was after a Hi Lux but so many were high mileage , worked hard and overpriced and few and far between locally , many L200's about that have had easy life !! . .
  9. obviously not the UK..... look at the sky !!!!!!!
  10. not lighting woodburner recently , got plenty of dry wood , weather bloody wet and cool here and generally horrible !! went for my first dive of the year this week ( much later than usual ) not a pleasant experience but enjoyed scallops and crab ......
  11. lawsons ...for sure ..especially the way the trunk divides half way up , very distinctive for lawsons , as well as the foliage and general form ..
  12. Do virtually all my work with ms 241 .... husky 357xp and ms661 for bigger stuff ....
  13. no , it was a zama carb ...
  14. Spud ...so you have a ported blower ?? could be of interest to some 😁
  15. fitted carb this morning and saw is running fine again !! time will tell on quality of carb but issue sorted ....
  16. I have a husky 357xp that will not run at the moment and after tackling basics , plug etc I have obtained a cheap carb to see if that will do the trick ...will fit and test tomorrow ...
  17. surely only in winter though !! and with the amount of rain in recent winters I doubt many particles get far from my house !!
  18. I am bewildered as to why Toyota are still promoting / advertising the hi lux if it is unable to supply them for ages !! not good for any one ..dealers , customers or company ...used ones prices are only high because new are unavailable !!...is it a brexit / covid issue ???
  19. the sand is very dry and will not be clinging to brushwood , and then only branches on the sand , the sand particles are much smaller than the gap between anvil and blade on chipper so should not really be as much an issue as working in muddy areas or gravel ...not ideal I know but not a big issue ....
  20. yes it is very fine sand , a horse menage ....not worried about blunting chipper though it is just the sheer volume of the stuff!!
  21. when I was a student at Merrist Wood ...85-86 we did a lot of practical sessions there ...lovely place !!
  22. it is quite common for builders ( on smallish jobs ) to get customer to set up account with the likes of Jewson and pay for it themselves or order online ....otherwise it will look like turnover is higher than the reality and saves getting stung by non paying customer !!!
  23. I often wrap a few turns of rope around to capture any splitting , choker chain works well if you have one to hand !
