    New saw and dealers

Yeah I don't have a good relationship with my local dealer after the issues with my 540. I've got other dealers further afield but they can't compete with that price. At the end of the day I can save nearly £100 by buying the saw online

    New saw and dealers

I thought so too bit like a car dealers but I don't want to take a chance

    New saw and dealers

I'm sure he would but I don't fancy sending the saw to London to sort even a minor issue out seems a bit of a ball ache
  4. I'm looking at getting myself a husky 576 the best price I find Is on FR Jones web site £784 24in bar with the dreaded. The question if I have any problems can I take this saw to any husky dealers for warrenty work? Anyone have any experience of this?
  5. I remember seeing this some time ago when the 201 was a bit pants, but the funny thing is though if he ran over the 540 instead it would resemble a bag of squashed wotsits. The 201 took it well
  6. The hand injuries is easy to identify.......top handles
  7. the iron Man look stop being a tight arse and buy some boots
  8. Just from personal experience I've clipped my boots A few times Boots are just as important as chainsaw pants in my opinion Wouldn't bother with gloves waste of time
  9. Might get a bit of flack here but he doesn't need them, yes they might give him a bit knowledge but he's not using a chainsaw for work so it makes no odds if he has it nptcs or not
  10. Ever bit of bash I cut every rats nest I make is a habitat pile it's just trying to convince people it is that's the hard bit
  11. Rashing??? If it means 'mash' cut it up in to little bits I don't see the problem we do it on utilities all the time
  12. As strange as it sounds we mainly fell knackered ash trees ever day of the week (Powerline resilience) and the occasional poplar and I can assure you it's not brittle don't worry yourself
  13. Once bitten twice shy, you'll never do it again you've learned your lesson and it'll always be in the back of you mind when you start cutting. I wouldn't get to hung up on class of chainsaw pants most of us wear class 1
  14. Both great saws you won't be disappointed. I would buy on which dealer would give you the best deal. Just throw one more into the mix a husky 365 is a good shout too
  15. Probably because we do tree work day in day out and watching someone else do the same thing we do every day isn't as entertaining as having a laugh about something other than Tree crack
  16. I use a funnel to pour it into my combi can if I'm feeling really risky I don't use a funnel both techniques of pouring chain oil seem to work well
  17. If I get into a position where Im on my spikes on a stem I find I can knock the little leaver with my thigh doesn't happen often just on awkward steams. Other than that I find it one of the best bits of kit I've used in a wire core strop
  18. Just got my ms200t back from spud. I got this saw cheap off ebay and it was in a pretty rough state. I needed a saw that was reliable so instead of me trying to fix it with my fists of ham I thought I'd send off to someone who knows what their doing. The saw now runs like new and the extra power of porting is noticeable and pretty much awesome I couldn't be more happy with the service I've had. I had to either buy a 201 or refub a saw I'm glad I went down the referb route, it was far cheaper and I've got a better machine out of it. Just a note: I was forced to get another saw due to the reliability of the husky 540. Anyone in the same boat I recommend giving a 200t a new lease of life
  19. I have a feeling you've never tightend or loosened a 660 oil cap by hand
  20. Get some quotes from TM companies it really is that simple
  21. I was actively looking for one so after a bit of research I just avoided the gdi engines. The mpi engines are used in a ton of other vehicles and seem pretty bullet proof so I went looking for one of those. I have no experience with the gdi so can't really comment other than what the forums say
  22. The sills, wheel arches outside and inside, and everywhere in the engine bay like suspension mounts bulkhead, brake servo. Cracking vehicle by the way mines the elegance so I've got leather and other bits and bobs
  23. I've got one, mines the 1.8 mpi. The gdi engines have a habit of coking up, check for rust, these vehicles rust like mad take a little hammer and tap it everywhere. Fuel economy I average around 26mpg. Apart from rust issues (new sills and patch work) it's been bomb proof it's been the most reliable vehicle I've owned. I've stuck some general grabber tires on mine and it's pretty impressive off road
  24. All my husky groundsaws have been great I've only had to replace the crank seal (first gen 560) apart from that 550 & 560 have been faultless, both 2nd hand I must add I get a pathetic tool allowance so I need reliability Maybe I've got the good ones I dunno I'm a rough arse with saws my only gripe with husky stuff is the 540 and the bars they make. I'd love to try dolmar/makita but if I bust a chain brake band I want to get that part that day or at the very latest the next day down time on my saws is a no no.
