  1. Sounds like a multi fuel stove. You really need to find out what it is not for burning soils fuels but for finding replacement parts. If it's a no make cheap job I'd use it this winter and buy a decent one next year
  2. Buy a transit tipper, a cheap car (bangeromics) and you'll still have cash left over to hire a chipper pay insurances etc
  3. Use fire lighters no point messing about with hippy technology, open all vents on the stove, then open the stove door by an inch. That will give you the best draw.
  4. Flue liners aren't cheap but they're not that difficult to fit. I'd get a man who's registered with hetas to fit it so he can sign it off. Because some idiot removed the chimney breast down stairs I've had to run a twin walled flue from my living room to the kitchen then into my bedroom then through the chimney breast in my room with a flue liner running down on to the twin walled flue That only cost £1200 for parts and labour.
  5. You were probably advised to set up the carb buy running it through bigger bits of wood. If not then you been told a load of tosh. Btw the 461 is the better saw to go for
  6. What a load of tosh
  7. It'll be the black or silver solenoid on top of the hydronic unit which is to the right hand side of the hopper. If your rollers are sticking tap the solenoid with a hammer your rollers will start to work. It's happened to a few different Jensens that I've used, it's a quick fix but a new solenoid is need eventually
  8. I can't argue with you on this, pests and diseases isn't my forte 001_smile:
  9. The newspaper has uploaded quite a few picture on their Facebook page.
  10. You also have to think about the future it's either going to fail or get bigger then fail that's what chestnuts do, it's not a woodland area where you can let nature to decide its course. Basically it's a bit selfish trying to prolong the enivitable when you can fell, grind and plant something a bit more suitable in its place (away from the Powerline so it doesn't get pruned/interfered/ ruin it's form)
  11. I also see problems that are indirect to that trees failure, root compaction, from what I see it looks like a popular place for people to sit and walk around. It also has Guignardia leaf blotch which won't directly cause a tree to decline but if the tree is slightly struggling leaf blotch won't help the situation specially when the tree needs as much energy as it can get and you factor in what eddy has said this certainly won't help.
  12. I'd avoid the 540 it's the only saw that can fling a chain off the bar no matter how much you tension it loosen it or change bars/chains. It's well documented it's made of cheese so I won't divulge in that
  13. When I owned a 560 the exhaust bolts were constantly coming undone my work mates 560 was the same but with this 550 I have they seem to be fine maybe it's runs slightly hotter thus making the bolts expand and contract
  14. I can think of worse places to wait around You should of popped into the tea rooms, had a brew and I bit of cake
  15. It was a nice easy day. Rather enjoyable for once
  16. I witnessed and attended a serious accident around a week ago it was horrific the lad is alive but in a bad way (similar to the other accident thread) but it wasn't bloody. I really don't want to delve into the accident. I just need advice and help on how to cope with it because in a nutshell it's done my head up I've lost 10 years of confidence and if I'm doing something else and I hear branches drop I get a little jumpy I've never been like this and it's so frustrating. I know it's only a short space of time since the accident, but I'm thinking of doing something else because I can't go on like it is. Anyone have any kind of experience dealing with a serious incident with one of your mates?

    Drying chip

I don't think I've ever seen dry wood chip unless it's dead wood, like what's been said wait till stone dry and chip it Does it really need to be dry for chickens?? I've tipped off for people with chickens and they don't mind fresh chip
  18. That's good I thought we crossed phasers on that bit of banter just as well really because i easily blower a fuse I'll get my coat ............
  19. How the hell did you hit a sub? I'm really hoping you're taking the piss if not I'm phoning NPTC in the morning to vent my frustrations
  20. I'm sorry I'm a bit charged up at the moment I was a bit negative with that post I'm usually a neutral person but I positively know that farmer is talking complete and utter tripe. It's shocking!!!
  21. I'm not mechanically minded but I tried to change the sproket on my 201 a few years back I used the position stop which came with the sproket.........it snapped in the cylinder splitting the saw was a piece of cake one tool will do most of the job
  22. I'd run it a bit like rob does obviously I don't want to upset him but I've ordered from him before and it was a breeze. Bit off topic it's about parts for machinery but I find using exploded diagrams with part numbers and prices much easier to use than trying to explain over the phone
  23. A 560 will suit you better it's the best of both worlds. Use it with a 15in bar or if needed it can handle a 20in bar
