  1. Didn't know where to post so went here. I have a 2003 Navarra that just failed MOT due to cracked chassis. We are sandblasting and welding back up to hopefully make it last a few more years (Got 2 years left on HP for van and chipper). Was wondering what the logistics would be to converting to tipper for small or off road jobs. Have seen old posts about pro tipper but they seem to be out of business now. I have discussed the idea with a few people some positive some negative. My ideas are to put a frame on the chassis and either get a cabstar tipper and build up sides or make one out of parts. Slightly concerned about legal weight. It can take 3.5 tonne payload. Has anyone got any advice at what to avoid or best way to do? Looking forward to hearing your comments.
  2. From what you guys are saying then it would be classed as a report which would require professional indemnity insurance. I will pass it onto somebody else. I have done this before with a view to trying to gain experience with a consultant but everybody seems reluctant to help as they do not want more competition. Thanks
  3. Can anyone help? I did some tree work for a customer last year. They have come back requesting me to do an inspection and write a letter for their insurance company. I have done my degree and am aware that report writing has to be accurate with disclaimers in so that you don't get shafted down the line. Would a basic letter stating any tree issues and recommendations be a reason for the insurance company to try and sue me if the tree failed within 12 months. I would like to get in to the consultancy side of things but do not want to get sued and lose my current business. Can anyone advise on my best course of action in this situation, my feelings are that a full arboricultural report is needed. But if the insurance company wants this every 12 months it is going to cost the customer a lot. Thanks in advance

  5. That was my initial thoughts. Trying to see if someone can convince me otherwise
  6. Hey guys, Need a bigger saw, looking around 24" bar. Any recommendations?
  7. You are right I do need both just don't have the cash yet. Links to similar threads were useful. Thanks for responses. Ryan
  8. Hi all, I am looking into what saw to buy as a second ground saw? Using a 261 which has been fine so far as I have been at college. Getting busier now and need something with a bigger bar. Was tempted by 440 but am concerned that 261 may pack in and it would be too big. Any suggestions? Ryan
  9. Really appreciate the feedback from all of you, started responding to Sloth a few hours ago, hadn't realised the rest of you had responded in the meantime. I will take account of your responses and edit the survey before it is circulated fully tomorrow. I will post again when the survey is live so you can input the correct responses if you wish to do so. Your feedback responses won't be taken as part of the final statistics. Thanks again, Ryan
  10. Really appreciate your feedback, I know the questions are similar but I am trying to see if there is a problem with legislation rather than budgets. I am doing the survey as part of my college research project. I am looking at ways we can preserve trees so they reach ancient and veteran status, as they are in decline. I am focusing on urban areas as this is where most pressure to falls regarding H&S, construction etc.
  11. Hello, I am conducting some research into current UK health and safety attitudes and whether they are detrimental to our future ancient and veteran trees in urban areas? The survey is aimed at allied tree professionals and is intended to support research as to whether urban trees are removed prematurely due to potential legal retort. It's only ten short questions and I would really appreciate it if you guys wouldn't mind filling it out and letting me know if there are any issues / owt dont make sense:confused1: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/B8M8QRF Thanks in advance
