  1. I wouldn't say zero stress I was more stressed when I was a freelance climber than being employed. Don't want to put a downer on the op but being employed is far better than being a freelance climber, I make about 30% less being employed but I have holidays sick pay and security PPE provided also someone pays my tax and NI, I'm quite luck as I've got a company vehicle so I have no fuel costs. Like Steve has said you have upsides but unless I was really sick Of my job I may consider freelance climbing again, just for the record I always had 5 days work in and was usually booked up for a month or 2 at a time
  2. How would go about sealing around the flue when It breaks through the conservator, Silicon? I'm just curious that's all I find these kind of things interesting
  3. Most of the 2nd hand saws I've bought need work doing to them people don't really tend to sell good saws, you might get lucky and find a good one but I would never sell a decent working saw I only get rid of them once they start causing more issues than they're worth. If you can stretch to a brand new saw that would be your best option. Would a 550 or a 555 husky be acceptable for you?
  4. It also seems like every trimming job I do like shrubs etc get turned into a ball anyone else do the same??
  5. Unfortunately
  6. Na usually the ladders sit firmly into the hedge it's an awkward way to do it but it's very rare that I trim hedges that big maybe 1 or 2 a year usually a set of 2.5m steps and a combi unto with an extension do it, plus I hate trimming so I try my best to avoid it
  7. I know but I saved a few quid probably £200 doing it that way hence why I didn't get those bits powder coated, it's just finding the time to do it, it's not bothering me at the moment as its in the corner behind the door so out of sight even when I enter the room. It needs doing but not yet it's xmas and I'll be drunk or I'll be poor probably be both
  8. It's A good saw but it's only a few quid off a 461 which is a better saw all round
  9. I apologise for the pictures and info but when I was looking I found a lack of info and builds on the net so I couldn't see the finished product
  10. Carpet is getting replaced that was my handy work I built the hearth to ease the cost
  11. You need to bare in mind you'll need a decent hearth mines on bricks and needs a decent clearance at the back 600mm mine sits on 1 inch thick slate it's a nightmare to keep clean
  12. No idea why every pic is on the side
  13. I still need to box off the bedroom bit but it's kind of hidden so I haven't bothered, this was all done by a hetas fitter
  14. I've got a twin wall flue running through most of my house and it cost me a fortune, that flue goes through into the kitchen then into my bedroom then breaks into the chimney half way up in my bed room. Only because someone removed the chimney breast down stairs to make the rooms bigger. I wouldn't of got it done if I didn't get free wood
  15. Is it not worth putting a burner in your living room and braking through the outside wall with a flue? It'll be cheaper
  16. I've used triple extension ladders as a last resort not the greatest finish but if it isn't a well kept hedge you can get away with it
  17. I wonder hie this saw performed in 2011 and what changes were made apart from the primer bulb
  18. CJM

    Bottled it!

We don't get paid enough to take big risks if I was on 100k a year anything is game but we don't so I'd ask for a mewp you can always get mewp in Just one more thing it's a job it's not life or death some people get to engrossed in tree work and mix the two up
  19. I think it that rule applies to any vehicle that has a landrover badge on it
  20. It is I'll admit when I'm wrong although it was tongue in cheek admission.
  21. If I stick to 50mph I'll not post on forums about speed limits humiliate myself and get greif
  22. Mines back in the dealers now for work on a bent spring lack of power and the bar issues, I picked up a 200 on eBay for £135 just as a back up it needs work with a orange screw driver but hopefully I'll make it my no1 go to saw instead of the 540
  23. I've been corrected I'll post you a medal if you want that's what this forums about providing correct information. I'm not standing I'm sitting down with a beer
