  13. Didn't expect this many replies to this thread! Thanks! Seems opinion is split but I'm going to side with chasing the quotes up. Like mark said nothing to lose everything to gain. Sorry if I sound desperate, but I want to get on!
  14. I can't remember the first tree I felled, it would have been on a chainsaw course. But I remember one of the ones I felled for my assessment, I cut the backcut an inch lower than the bottom of the gob and still passed.

  16. How is it it best to approach customers who haven't got back to you after you give them a quote? And how long do you leave it before asking? I'm doing more quotes now and I'm charging more, but still hate losing jobs. Thanks will

  21. Yes it looks like an oak sleeper. Yea I did use the colour seach but I didn't think it was laetiporus because it was only a single bracket.

  23. Saw this bracket growing from a sleeper outside a neighbours house. Only got one pic as I thought they may wonder what I was doing taking close ups of their steps! Had a look at the fungi app, but still no clue as to what it could be?
  24. Go for it. I've learnt loads from trying to rebuild old saws. Lots of helpful people on here. I'm still rubbish at it tho. Guess I don't have the knack!
