  1. Best one I had was a window firm offering a "once in a lifetime deal on new windows". No thanks I said , What about new doors then, No thanks, just had a new front door. What about a conservatory? , came next. Oh yes I said, my neighbour has just had one and I would love to have a bigger better one than him although his cost £25,000. Mind you I said just had my PPI payout and a whiplash claim so could afford it at the moment. Many utterly amazing offers then followed, once in a lifetime opportunities than just shouldn't be missed You could almost feel the excitement at the end of the phone, When can we call round and do a survey? came the next excited question. So we agreed the next Tuesday at 6pm and gave them my address. You will need to ring my doorbell when you arrive. Its the third one down. The third one you say, said my new lifetime friend, yes I said because I live on the third floor...... There was a pause and reality hit home, the phone went dead, I never heard from my new friend again.
  2. I wouldn't touch it until out of warranty. Any mods will invalidate it, after that its down to you
  3. Chap over road has had one for 8 years as the car version, apart from usual bits been fine, longest he has ever kept a car. Price would be at top end but if mint and stated mileage then doubt you will buy much better for £2K
  4. Try this We Sell, Buy & Rent Out Tractors, Diggers, Plant & various other machinery
  5. Try J M Jones tractor dealers Talsarn, Lampeter. Exactly his thing
  6. For the extra £70 or so , go for the KM94R, marketed as a pro machine rather than the pure domestic of the KM56R
  7. The problem is when you move the spacing of the letters on the plate, its a green light for the police to pull you up and look for something else
  8. No wonder Stihl dont want to comment, one wrong connection and that could be the end of that saw. Suggest you get the correct battery before doing anything else
  9. Try replacing the whole set and check for clutch drum wear. On a brushcutter springs going all the time is a sure sign of a worn drum
  10. Should be supplied with a 3639 000 0062 chain which is full chisel 15 inch 0.325, 1.6mm clearly states that in Stihl catalogue. Can also be used with semi chisel chain, just replace first 4 digits with either 3629 or 3686. First 4 digits is chain type, last 4 is no of drive teeth,
  11. We would never have another triaxle trailer, harder to manoveure, harder to pull so less MPG, more to buy and less legal carrying capacity. We tow an 18 foot Ifor twin axle with a MWB sprinter 316CDI, 3.5 ton van and a 3.5ton towing capacity so 7 ton GTM, no problems at all. One of those and all valuables are locked up inside, loads of panel space for a good sign writing job if so desired, will carry a large ride in it. If you need 4wd then that version is available
  12. Just go to Morris Bufton in Ludlow, probably the cheapest and large stocks so hopefully no wait, get one off the shelf and you know its yours!!!!
  13. All Stihl parts diagrams and technical updates are on disc issued by Stihl and licensed to that dealer. You can however get paper copies on a model by model basis, they are listed in the front of the parts price guide your local dealer will have and he can order them for you. The MS201TC-M is totally different to the older model
  14. I too thought caravan or boat storage but what do you do with the land? Surely there must be demand for winter sheep grazing over 50 acres must raise £2K over winter, target the welsh hill farmers. On the wood front, if you have plenty of timber and budget customers why not a pick your own logs operation, would go hand in hand with sheep
  15. I watched the match in the Prince of Wales , Cardiff city centre last night, 200 metres from the Millenium Stadium. The atmsophere was amazing, the packed pub just errupted when Wales scored a try, even the English supporters cheered, thats sportsmanship.
  16. If you decide at any point you dont need it anymore, the Ifor will certainly have the best resale value. We dont run anything else, just buy a new Ifor, run it 2/3 years and then sell it for 80% of new, before it needs brakes, tyres etc, simples
  17. Go into Booking.com, select area and see whats on offer, then Tripadvisor, never fails for me
  18. Kind words indeed and hopefully true. We are probably not the cheapest on Ebay but we do know exactly where we had each saw from and will stand by what we sell.We work on the principle that the enviroment and council saws will have done far less work than a tree surgeons model and if you buy direct off them , it is guaranteed not stolen. Why should anyone on this forum ever risk buying a stolen saw as it only supports the scumbag who has stolen a tree surgeons tools he earns his living with and encourage them to steal more. If you want help , just ring us for a chat, number on each advert we will pick out the best saw for your needs. In our experience the MS280 was an oddball with parts fairly unique to itself and best avoided. Our choice would be an Enviroment 346XPG silver side or 357XPG with a 15inch .325 bar
  19. Spend £100 on rebuild parts for the 260 and have another good few years out of it. They all rattle but go on forever, an 021 is a domestic saw about 15 years old 35cc , not a commercial grade 50cc saw
  20. We bought my late father a 5 ton Alko electric splitter and then bought him a Stihl 2800g cleaving axe, far quicker job and very little would defeat it, soon sold splitter. Once you use the Stihl axe, cheaper ones seem a waste of time
  21. I think there is an adjustment on the pump on those, it turns opposite to what you think, ie to reduce fuel , turn it anti clockwise. If its opened out too much, it will black smoke, run rich and lack power. Could be the lock nut come loose, but we havent run one of those since 1999 so job to remember exactly, regards Mark
  22. My turn now. First job, assuming its a 20 inch bar , check the bar model number on the side of the bar, for a 20 inch it should be 3003 008 6121, if its 18 inch then its 3003 008 6117 and if its 16 inch its 3003 008 6113. If the last set of 4 numbers start 52 then its the wrong bar and thats your problem. bar oil hole does not line up. The MS391 uses a different bar to the MS361 but will accept the same chain. Most plastic chassis saws have a vent hole in the oil tank along side exhaust and if the plug in vent is loose or missing oil is pump out there instead of onto chain. A self tapping screw usually fixes. Plug is not available as a seperate part. In terms of warranty I dont think warranty is transferable, as technically you have bought it as a second hand saw
  23. Clutch spring snapped off and jammed in clutch, very common if clutch drum worn
  24. Get ready for disapointment I say, if its genuine, someone, somewhere is loosing out
  25. Rochfords in Wincanton best bet,
