  1. done a quote about a year ago for a rather bad tempered older couple what they wanted doing was not rite for there needs and price they wanted to spend so discussed options with them but they were having non of it! so ended up quoting for exactly what they had asked for and they never got back to me...... then sunday after noon I got an answerphone message asking to go and quote for "some gardening work" rang them back and asked what "gardening work" and they wouldn't go in to details just wanted to know when I could go and have a look so said I would pop down on the way home last night. when I got there someone els had done the work that I had quoted for a year earlier and screwed it up well and truly so could I now put It rite! told them a price and a time scale (6-7weeks at the moment) and got told that my price was way to high and my time scale was way to long. (£200 of materials and 2xmen for 2xdays £700) told them politely then they would probably be better of contacting the original people that done the work in that case at wich point they told me that the original company will not answer the phone to them any more lol
  2. we have a 4m set that I bought in may last year. has earned its money well and will be getting a shorter set aswell in the next couple of months well worth the money
  3. lol I was a farmer am now a landscaper! as said before I would suggest to the customer that they shoud be ground out but if they insisted on them being sawed then so be it
  4. worked in a garden last year we nick named dog garden as it was every were!
  5. I have several different saws but 2-3 of them run the same bar/chain size. one saw gets used soley for this type of thing and gets the old chains from the other saws
  6. to cut off just below ground level I would be looking at £130 (half day rate plus 2xchains) but I would recommend grinding to the customer
  7. you cant use your saws much if you have had the same fuel for the past 1.5-2 years
  8. +1 for paint balling
  9. been looking for over a year! I was an ex-farmer so know most of the farmers in the area and non of them have anything. only place I can find is some 20miles away lol
  10. yes had very good legal advice. also put in complaints about the 2x officers and while doing so found out that the inspector at the time was as crooked as the 2x cops. went in to put in my complaint and he took me to one side and basically tried to make me feel sorry for the 2xcops and was trying to get me to drop my complaint when I refused to he made it clear my life would be made hell by them if i didn't drop it. when i refused to drop it he filled in the forms and said they would get sent to the appropriate places and i asked how i could check that they had recived them and he said "why don't you trust me" to that i replied no not after what you have just told me. in the end i ended up going over his head and getting the forms processed properly. i had 2-3 years of hell after that from the police! as i said there are some good ones but there are also some rite w$%&£%s
  11. oh and no one had reported me for doing anything
  12. you are obviously better than the dorset police then! I don't trust them an inch. im a friendly guy that gets on with every one. the night I got done I was driving back from bridport through Dorchester and parked the work van in the car park(instead of on the yellows like every one els) about 100yrds away got out the car and walk to the takeaway, went in, ordered, happy chatting with the owner when the to cops came in behind me, I turned nodded and said hi same as I would to anyone then they said "what you been up to" I explained that I had just finished on one farm and was heading to the next and that's why I was in work cloths and dirty. also explained that I was getting food on the way back to the farm as I didn't have time to stop for breaks. they then asked if I had anything on me that I shouldn't and I politely and freely told them I had my work pen knife in my pocket and all hell let loos! shouting put your hands on the counter and so on witch I did freely and with no resistance what so ever. the way they acted you would have thought I told them I had a bomb on me! then they asked what pocket it was in so I said "this one" and pointed at what pocket it was and as I went to point they started shouting and getting very over agresive again then one of them took the knife out of my pocket and read me the your under arrest stuff. then went and searched the work van but there was nothing in there. there reasone for stopping me was that I was "acting suspicious" . at no point was I anything but polite and offered no resistance what so ever and there statements in court were at best fictional! like I said up till that point I thought the police were there to help but from that point on I do not trust a single one of them. yeh there are good ones but im not willing to take the chance so decide not to trust any of them
  13. well it was still in work time as I was still getting paid !
  14. no previous and didn't kick up a fuss when they searched me. they had no reason what so ever to act like c$%ts . that was when I found out just how corrupt the police are
  15. what I would call a shepperds knife wooden handle with a twisty metal bit that stops the blade closing on your fingers. not a flick knife
  16. yep carrying an offensive weapon. the knife was a "lock knife" EG folding blade that "locked" when open and are not allowed at any length. stopped on the way home from work to get a burger at 8ish in the eav went in to kebbabie ordered food while waiting 2x cops came in behind and was arrested for carrying a weapon and going equipped. going equipped was dropped in the end
  17. it may not be a good one but it is great at destroying moving parts
  18. I got charged for having a 2.5" pen knife on me when I was still a farmer! in work cloths and in a works van
  19. wd40 is a de-greaser
  20. looked in to one before and it ended up being more expensive than "at the pump prices" and they wanted £1k up front on account. that one was through Tesco
  21. cant stand newer (year2000+) transits wouldn't have one as a gift! id go cabstar if all your work is going to be on tarmac/concrete or movano with mud/snow tyres if you do a small bit off road
  22. blue 04 twincab ldv on ebay for £1800 ono if your still looking
  23. snow on Tuesday
  24. pluss on bigger jobs people want to know what its going to cost so get put off by hourly rates
  25. no he asked for advice for saws "AROUND the 40cc mark"
