  1. your not ment to eat the wax on edam lol every cheese has its place
  2. thanks for the reply! yeh its a very clean saw the guy I bought it from had more money than sense! I ended up buying 4x saws from him all with very minor problems. every time something went wrong with one he would just go and buy a new one lol
  3. it has a 15" bar with new chain already. starts and runs a treat. the £25 price was from a dealer down the road who is the only dealer I have asked thanks for the reply
  4. when I bought my movano a year ago it was only ment to be a "stop gap" till things picked up it cost me £3k but took a lot of looking for! the amount of donkeys I looked at was crazy! now after a year of owning it I have no intention of swaping it out there are much more important things I want to spend money on rather than just getting a newer van for the sakes of it
  5. Very long story but I have ended up with a husky 142e that needs a new clutch spring and brake band (about £25 for both parts) the saw owes me nothing but are they any good? not in to huskys so don't know much about them was thinking of fixing it and just keeping it as a back up saw or just selling it on as is any feed back on them ? many thanks Gary
  6. xtrail is better off road and the sorento is a bit "school runish" IMO
  7. if I HAD to go for a transit I would look at getting an older clean one rather than a newer ruff one!
  8. I know quite a few men that are just as bad at reversing! my dad being one of them
  9. they are under a normal car license as GVW is 3.5T
  10. converted 3 first one I tried retaining the body but was more hastle than it was worth.
  11. normally the bodys of non tippers need so much strengthening that its cheeper to just buy the body from a tipper and swap them over
  12. drop side bodys are not strong enough to be converted to tippers so you need to get the hole body from a tipper. if you buy the hole lot from a breakers the body, pump, sub fram are very easy to swap over done my last one in an afternoon and cost me £1200 for all the bits
  13. is the tank bellow 1/4 full most of the time?
  14. sorry fella but hunting is one of the least efficient ways of controlling fox numbers! back when I was still shooting we would go out and shoot 6-7 a night in the area we lived in with just 2x people. at the end of the day hunting is just a sport and has next to no contribution to controlling fox numbers
  15. twin cab cabstars are like rocking hours poo! plus they are next to useless on anything other than tarmac/concrete
  16. lol very very light breeze in dorset
  17. im not against hunting but what dose get up my nose is the hunts complete disrespect of others property. the farm I managed until a year ago did not allow the hunt on there land (and the 2x farms next door) yet ever time they went out they would just come on our farm and cause endless problems. as for the "followers" what a bunch of brain dead fools! I don't care that there following the hunt but I do care that they park there cars with out a care in the world if others can get through that are going about there daiy work. it might be different in other areas but round our way what a bunch of dicks. but to all that did go out yesterday and had a responsible hunt I hope you had an enjoyable day out
  18. everyones needs are different! I couldn't have a van without safe tool storage and I carry a lot of tools! the pay load difference depending on what one it is if fitted with like for like backs is only about 300kg and if you have to fit a van vault then most of that is taken up by the vault. I like to just put my tools in the back and know there is a good chance they will still be there when I get back plus its much easyer to just lock the van when your not near it than it is to lock tool storage
  19. yeh but most(if not all) the parts can be fitted to from one van to another! my movano has quite a few Renault replacement parts on it
  20. how do you work that out? if you had sides on and loaded with a chipper(as most on here would do) most of the weight is at the front of the tipper body e.g well in front of the rear axel. I put my one over the council weigh bridge (they have the type where you put your front wheels on then your rear wheels on and add the 2 up) and it wasn't much off of 50/50
  21. The sad thing is though that for every amazing story that we have been told there are hundreds that never got to tell there story. R.I.P to all those that didn't get to share there story
  22. master, mavano, and the Nissan one (forgot its name) are all the same van
  23. lol . on a side note don't buy any tipper that has ever been sign written with the words "scrap wanted for cash"
  24. depends what "image" you need/want to put out to your customers. I looked at going down the ldv root and you will struggle to get a new shape one for that sort of budget and the older shape just look a bit step toe and son
  25. when I first got it it had normal road tyres on it and it did tend to get stuck now and again. I now have mud and snow tyres on there (cost £130 each) and haven't got stuck since they have been on there! my fire pile is at the top of a steep chalk track that in the wet most things struggle to get up but the movano can get up there. it carries a good load well and never looks over loaded. My one is on 2007 van but has the older 5 speed gear box and is much better than the 6speed (we also have a vivaro 6speed) just put it in 3rd gear and it will just keep on going up any hill no matter what you have on the back! bought my one for £3k with 160k miles on it in may and its now on 177k with out missing a beat. I took the rear seats out the day I bought it and the "tool space" is massive but if you keep the seats in it is a 7 seater. depending what back you have on it (my one has 2Mx3M alloy back with 1.2M removable sides) and with half tank of fuel, tools, and me it can carry just shy of 1200kg (twin cab transit I had was under 900kg) hope that helps Thanks gary
