  1. A whole trailer for £37, are you sure it didn't fall off the back of a lorry 😉
  2. It would be easier yes, plus a proper trailer has the light board and numberplate fitted. On my old rock machinery splitter I ended up removing the mudguards and the log cradle as they just get in the way splitting.
  3. Strictly speaking they aren't really road tow, moveable yes but not road legal.
  4. They probably all come out of the same Chinese factory/Alibaba as rock and a list of others. It's more a matter of do they stock any parts if it breaks. But to be honest what parts can't you source with a simple Google search.
  5. Do all the connections go via that green anodised aluminium Amphenol connector underneath?. Might be worth continuity checking as old Amphenol connectors were all solder joints, it's old school and a right PITA to repair. Atleast that way you know it's more likely the board than anything else.
  6. As it's a closed circuit, it shouldn't get any oil contamination unless water has got into the oil. Everything will be off the shelf so to speak, but there could be a metal mesh filter somewhere in the circuit, but would be more inclined to think it's probably a failed pump.
  7. Having they're accounts signed off would actually be a 1st. It's almost as stupid as them trying to set the price of Russian gas. Erm, remind me again who has the gas and wants the gas. But Ursula isn't exactly known for her acumen, wasn't it her that left the German army somewhat underfunded and lacking in equipment?
  8. Regardless of where they tax it's still us that's going to pay in one way shape or form. Taxing the firm's sounds nicer, but in reality it's still going to be us that pay. I'm sure all these people with smart meters might wake up one morning to find they've been reconfigured to pay as you go.
  9. He mentioned tightening the earth wire in the original post. Always worth starting simple as the electronics probably have a seperate feed via that black wire.
  10. Where are you taking your neutral reading from ?
  11. One would assume the delivery is say £10 plus vat at 20%, £2. For the sake of argument £100 wood plus vat at 5%, £5. Obviously it all comes down to actual margins, but I guess a large trade discount would apply to the original supplier. Swings and roundabouts, but an accountant would be my 1st port of call. Once prices have been worked out for both vat and not Vat selling. The AIA is on equipment, isn't the tax written down as a percentage over several years on large purchases?.
  12. I'm similar to Woodworks, but won't be vat registered, even my day to day company isn't vat registered even though I import equipment from abroad and could save. On the one hand yes you can gain a little claiming it back and against machinery purchases, but to a certain degree that applies to even none vat registered companies. Personally, I'd just take it on the chin and just pay the VAT. Unless you're running 40k as a sole trader, what's yours is then yours minus usual taxes etc.
  13. I would have thought that's a rather cut and dried question. If the council require it, you can't lie. You can ask them politely where they use.
  14. Whilst not wanting to chuck a grenade into the debate, is it really worth going vat registered. Obviously we don't know you're turnover but have you looked at the difference it would make to your current turnover?. It the increase is just a couple of k, it's not worth the worry, paperwork and stress. Unless you're going to drastically ramp?.
  15. Have you thought about applying for work with your local DNO ?.
  16. Don't think I've ever had any problems with sage, not Vat registered but don't think it's ever had any problems. Deleting invoices is pretty simple, obviously it's better to reuse an invoice number than have a gap.
  17. It's a catch 22, at the moment you probably won't warrant a processor or the big cost. Chainsaw and a decent rock splitter will be more than enough, save your money and invest in metal cages to stop the stacking which just wastes time and takes longer to dry.
  18. Before we all start piling in with our own preferred machines we need to know. 1. How many m3 are you looking to process. 2. Is the timber long lengths or arising. 3. Are you processing rings. 4. Power source, petrol, diesel, 3 phase, tractor. 5. Budget. That's in no way being dismissive, start small and move your way up the ladder. It's what we all did until we found the best ways to do what we do.
  19. Is that how you get trade show discounts?
  20. Heavy duty flail would reduce it to mulch. If it's heavy gorse, probably best look looking for a front mounted to minimise any chance of punctures.
  21. What's the point of adding to the low cost of manufacturing by having a button. It's a feature that's been included in the electronics for atleast the last 10-15 years and costs then nothing really and can update the tunes if they wished.
  22. You'll need to know the exact markings there are two types on eBay by the same seller, might be worth a call. GENUINE TIMBERWOLF Chipper Spare - Old style Switch as per picture. EL2648 WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Find many great new & used options and get the best deals for GENUINE TIMBERWOLF Chipper Spare - Old... Failing that, take a picture of the current setup and be back of the switch. Usually marked 1-2 or 3-4, some may have both as a safety setup.
  23. Probably best just speaking with entec. If it's the one in the picture it's eao switch 44.211 Things like switches get discontinued quite regularly, so usually they would have stocked up before they got hard to source. Failing that you'll have to replace the whole mechanism and switch
  24. Victorious retreat, I'm sure Stalin had a different policy when it was Stalingrad. I'm sure they had a policy of shall we say on a politically correct fashion, go forward or immediately stop breathing!.
  25. Did you try it with the bar and no chain, just to make sure it's actually lining up with the oil hole on the bar ?
