  1. The chlorine they add isn't to protect the pipes, it's to prevent any bacterial growth. Like any company they use as minimal amount as possible, just enough to get the job done and save money. As I live in the north west, it's soft water so no limescale and about as pure as you can get. It's Buxton water without the bottle.
  2. I'm sure it was something to do with insulation, allowing you to offset the need for panels if you desired. However the new building regs have probably ended those shenanigans and making it mandatory, new regs were the other month I think. There are also limits on the amount you can install if it's grid tie as the DNO is having trouble with the network. Transformer upgrades and cable sizes etc, the 16A per phase is in places far too high.
  3. You could also highlight countries like Sweden utilise nuclear and energy from waste to reduce gas usage. Which is something we as a country failed to do and have historically been exporting our waste plastic to Sweden to burn!. Nuclear wise they went Westinghouse as apposed to the EPR used by the French which Finland only just put online after something like 12 years delays.
  4. Leicester Square turned into a human penguin circle, huddled together walking slowly to keep warm whilst the BBC hover overhead in a helicopter.
  5. The bridleway people can't take any of it away as that would be theft, but they should know who to ask. Generally a bridleway is over or on part of someone's property, £6 on the land registry should clarify ownership.
  6. Starmer couldn't answer what is a women for atleast 6 months, do you really think he has a clue about energy pricing. He'll suggest a workers strike as per his union paymasters
  7. If it's occasional use, buy a Makita or similar brand clone. Think my angle grinder was 20-25 delivered Vs 100 for the real thing. 3 years later it's paid for itself many times over and I still wouldn't buy the real thing.
  8. Isn't Scottish water still owned by the Scottish government tho ?.
  9. If it's anything like the one in lockdown you'll have her husband 1st in the queue. Plus with his counting skills, he can barely count the notches on the bedpost
  10. And at the same time Sweden used common sense and locked away the elderly and at risk. We can all argue until all the cows have come home about this but we can't change what's happened. Can we all agree Mr Ferguson needs taking outside and publicly shaming for his inverted commas prediction?
  11. Boris has for a long while been a bit like diet coke, devoid of calories and full of chemicals. Which as a small C conservative does kinda pain me knowing how low all parties have fallen.
  12. Rishi's backbone is akin to one of those inflatable waving signs. Only upright when full of air and his own self importance. I would have used a snake analogy but the only image that came to mind was a snake dancing to someone else's tune.
  13. It has everything to do with the price of fish, the food has to be grown somewhere. How is exporting the growing to say a third world country better for the environment?.
  14. Do you really think European farmers are applying an expensive input poorly tho?. Practically every farmer will employ an agronomist to tell them what/where and how and take soil samples accordingly.
  15. Is that arguing we should have actual punishments or just wasting money on the legal system?. Maybe we can get them crushing rock, I would be happy for them to work as navies and restore canals. Hard work and learning practical skills. Supposedly it's 30k a year to lock someone away, so say march to october doing such work.
  16. Is that the Weston super mare tourist advert ?
  17. I'll assume it's the plan to prevent farmers using their land productively. Banning the sensible use of fertiliser because of nitrogen emissions, whilst at the same time making diesel drivers use adblue. Which shock horror creates nitrogen.
  18. Think that all depends on if the other properties are your minions. If they we're you'd probably have one minion for arbtalk, can't get ones fingers dirty.
  19. When you've a entire postcode for the gate house and another for the house I guess Billy was right.
  20. You could also say you can't really just become upper class in a similar fashion. Just because your footballer rich doesn't give you that status, bit like Chris eubank in the 90s.
  21. Can't believe that we are actually discussing the social status of drug dealers. Does that make Pablo Escobar upper class or maybe royalty ?. Whilst I can argue about ones status, I think to a degree it's generally your children that are born into a class. You may attain that standing be it employment, education etc but they are the ones that go on to expect it without thinking about it. But I think most of us are somewhere in the hinterland of working/middle class.
  22. Talk about an upgrade to a poster boy, that's more of a mobile billboard.
  23. Everyone knows it's never going to come back positive, one can dream
  24. That should be fun watching, didn't the last election fail to elect a party as it's the European style coalition governments. Plus it'll be interesting if the Finland PM tests positive for cocaine.
  25. On a sample size of three turbines in India, surely they could find somewhere a little closer to MIT. I would hope turbine manufacturers a d installers already knew about wake turbulence, it's the reason they have to separate big planes and spacing whilst landing. Which I think was also the reason for fitting winglets to the a380, to reduce vortices on landing.
