  1. Let's all form a circle around the fire and sing kumbaya shall we. I just smell a certain amount of BS about Thomas, if he wanted pat's on the back fine both myself and Andy did as much. But asking for help here vs something that should be local, word of mouth or even your local church group seems odd after proclaiming barter is alive and well locally.
  2. Sush, look around the eyes not at the eyes. The last two years were a dream, everyone was on vacation, German tour bus.
  3. Well they aren't going to argue or kick off with either countries. Norway has half the gas supply and Switzerland has the money and gold.
  4. So what's your solution other than run back to mommy and return to the spanked arse ATM of Europe ?.
  5. Why not add you list of damages whilst he finds a fag packet or postage stamp.
  6. The MSM always blame either Brexit or Ukraine, whilst they all ignore the cluster f that was COVID. All economies bar Sweden and China are in the toilet. Food - we should be self sufficient Electric - we should be nuclear and selling it back to the eu Gas - close the gas power and use it like the 1980s The list can go on, we are not a desolate island regardless of whom you believe.
  7. Well the blatant profiteering
  8. I totally forgot about the successful business man, desperately needing to heat the house with two burners for his kid and Mrs. Is drug dealing altruism, if it's barter. You know, I'll break your legs if you don't pay me for the last smack ?. I actually suggested he did bought it and sold at cost, seeing space wasn't a problem become a tip site and sell it at cost.
  9. And that's how a lot of arb types do start. If you've read the posts he just wants to chop firewood for free and that's it.
  10. If barter is so alive a well, why are you asking us ?.
  11. I suggested that, but at the SNPs expense. If she's so confident, she can pay, as the last one cost us English 15.8 Million sterling pounds. Mandatory voting, no if or buts. Minimum 60% for and we'll pay for a legally binding one.
  12. Referendum is not changing who runs a government tho is it, it's a vote to literally leave and not come back. Ever few years they wouldn't be asking Scotland, fancy coming back would they. How many times did the EU ask the Irish?.
  13. They were mooting again that the next election would be a vote for independence if they voted SNP again. If the SNP were so confident why can't they raid the donors to pay for a referendum, wouldn't be legally binding but she needs a reality check instead of she-weeing our money against the wall.
  14. I am trying to be nice, but the site is mostly about arb types with bills to pay, HMRC don't like in kind or IOU sometime. If you want to be philanthropic about firewood, nice if you have the time and means but probably best to buy in and sell with very minimal of margins. I've never met a farmer who would give you firewood in return for chopping it and I am one and surrounded by them. Best of luck.
  15. Your forgetting what boat stands for. Bring Out Another Thousand.
  16. I'm certainly not telling anyone what to wear. Type A personally as I don't climb and work alone so no chance of a fellow chainsawist giving me the bums rush.
  17. To use an electrical regs word practicable. Where you wear it or not, either you'll be explaining it to the Dr in A&E or the HSE if you're an employee or Employer. Wear as much protection as you can, but like all tree guys you should be able to argue why you don't need to wear x,y,x.
  18. Why not check the woodsure website.
  19. It just seems to stick to your nose hair.
  20. If you're going to press wild flowers it's kinda obligatory
  21. Whilst strimming is hot and uncomfortable Vs going home covered head to toe in liquidised dog poo and being able to smell it for 2-3 days up your nostrils. So it's boiler suit, pair of rigger gloves, wellies and a full helmet setup with plastic visor.
  22. Bloody predictive text again
  23. And Herbert is probably either agency or an intern.
  24. Why do I have a feeling it's going to turn into a death of Stalin traitor scene where we're all arguing who's going to do it.
  25. Getting the permission will be less trouble for you in the long term. As if you keep going back it'll end up biting you on the arse. End of the day the customer is going to do it regardless, either legally via you or a fly by night. Which would probably end up coming back to you too. The pets argument might just make it worse, as horses are pets and not livestock.
