  1. Last year 5 large Sycamores in a local park just lost a lot of bark and died. The bark was flaking off and the trees lost half their leaves and then the rest went and they were taken down. One was left but that now looks ready to drop.
  2. Probably just field/wood mice taking advantage of your hospitality.
  3. You see now why I wear trousers, naturism is alright indoors
  4. We were given salt tablets when I worked in foundries to replace salt lost through sweating. A friend of mine was complaining of calf cramps and when I told him it was probably due to lack of salt he said he never puts salt on or in anything. He does now and is not suffering.
  5. Most of the Irish speaking travellers are only over here to rip off anyone stupid enough to employ them making money to keep their pad at home usually with a fence and gate to keep their kind out.
  6. A couple of blokes I used to work with had neighbouring allotments and the banter was always good to listen to. Favourites were how's the pea row doing, mines like a privet hedge and can I borrow your bow saw I want to cut up a carrot and mine is stuck in a turnip. In our garden at the moment the peas are just ripening, strawberries have about finished and courgettes are producing a couple a day. Tomatoes in the greenhouse are looking promising as well and the two cucumber plants have small cucumbers. Ask these are my wife's hobby I just eat the stuff.
  7. This American site lists a pump, metal drive and oil pipe for an early model 2077 or 2083, $35 for it doesn't sound bad if it will fit.
  8. A friend of mine has MS181 and his does the same until he gets it really warmed up then it works fine.
  9. I have the Observers Book of Trees and Shrubs of the British Isles and another book called A colour guide to familiar trees leaves, bark and fruit by Jaromir Pokorny illustrated by Jirina Kaplicka which is too old to have an ISBN but the illustrations are superb and look hand painted. Just looked and there are a couple on Amazon reprinted in 1975.
  10. How big was that slug ?
  11. That's BS when I can go into the local shop and buy a bottle of Harpic Max 10 for £1 if I want to disfigure or blind someone
  12. Whatever you get, don't light a fire in it. You can't have your kayak and heat it as well I'll get me coat
  13. You'll not get lost on the way to the wedding then Stubby.
  14. Try on Partmaster they do B&Q spares for electric and petrol saws.
  15. Fire tablet and iphone 4s that refuses to die but if I'm reading I use the desktop with 24" monitor, better for porn as well
  16. John Lennon ? Do you mean beetle ??
  17. How much are you allowed to store in anything other than a bunded container ?
  18. Who told you that, Sheffield council ??
  19. The copper bit on the end of the wire needs to touch the springy metal bit to stop the saw by earthing the coil. It looks like it's come out of it's slot in the choke lever.
  20. How would a tunnel work to raise the level of a boat to the next section ? If you tunneled level for the length of a canal section you would still have to lift the boat at the end of the section. Easier to have a few small rises instead of one great big one like the Falkirk Wheel. Anybody got any wood ?

Depends how bad you want one. I wouldn't pay over £120 for any old saw when you can pick something like a 357xp up on Gumtree for £170.
  22. Birch will definitely dry, Willow might take a bit longer if it's from near water.
  23. What really annoys me is intolerant people
  24. Some folks just can't settle to one job. I looked up burlesque dancing and it just looks like a coy stripper to me. It was an insomniac agnostic dyslexic who laid awake all night wondering if there really is a dog kevin and a dyslexic pimp who bought into a warehouse. I'm more into jigsaw puzzles, I was pleased to finish the last one in under 2 months. It had more than 10 pieces and said 3 to 4 years on the box
