  1. You could buy a new fan from Aldi for about £12, they had some in ours last week.
  2. I had one do this and the problem seemed to be the metering. I raised the lever a bit and it was all good again.

    New cheapo saws

I have had a Dynamac DY41 for years now, made by Efco and sold by Machine Mart. Only thing with it is the oiler runs all the time unlike modern saws but the saw itself is faultless. They made Emak and Oleo saws as well.
  4. A friend of mine uses a JCB hydraulic pack to run the splitter and it does the job nicely. It's the one they use to run jigger picks on roadworks. My splitter uses a Loncin engine.
  5. I'm missing out on all the fun somewhere. About every third sharpen I give the rakers 3 or 4 strokes with the file and they cut fine. If they are not throwing chips I give them another couple of strokes job done. Just looked at one I was using yesterday and it was working fine, rakers are about 20 thou on a lo pro chain. The one in your picture looks like a new chain set at about 1/8 of an inch.😳
  6. Has the original poster tried disconnecting the kill switch wire ?
  7. My Stihl Ms460 does it, I think it's just marking it's territory🤔
  8. Luxury, we had one with black and white leatherette finish. Did you ever leave the arm up so it played the same record over and over. It used to drive our mum mad.
  9. If that's yours it's a spur and it's knackered 😱 Get a new one ordered as soon as possible. There's a thread from 2017 that might help you suggesting a rim sprocket clutch as an alternative.
  10. What if he cut his leg off with the saw and fell, damaging his helmet, would they still refuse to pay out ? I think not, lighten up man.
  11. I'm wearing a T shirt, under my shirt and jumper 😄 It's 4° here.
  12. Bit of gaffer tape over it no-one will know
  13. It will probably stay sharp a bit longer at 30°. I can't see 5° making much difference to the cutting speed.
  14. Is it like the 350 ? The screws are still there under the plastic.
  15. I got chain oil in my small top handle saw and even when I drained it it wouldn't start. I stripped the carb and everything was stuck down, the pump diaphragm and the metering was stuck. I cleaned it all out and blew it through with some carb cleaner and compressor and it fired up as normal but a bit smoky. It's a mistake you don't want to make twice.
  16. You might as well get a box of 10 packs as shipping is £4.60 ish for 1 pack.
  17. No wind here today but it's snowing again, about 2" in the last hour looks like a Christmas card out there.
  18. It's cold here, snow's disappearing though.
  19. You have to remember that's a metric foot though 🙄
  20. It cod have been worse 🙄
  21. Tinfoil hat time, I've made mine double thickness this time they're not getting into my head again.
  22. People always seem to struggle to get spares for them though I've been using mine for years now and only had to change the plug and take the clutch off for greasing and neither of those were any great hardship I prefer my 135 to my mate's MS181which is a bit temperamental starting and bogs no matter what we do with it. I have a few larger Stihl which are good saws. I don't like cutting pallets with the chainsaw though I'd rather break them up with a bar.
  23. YOU MIGHT GET A BETTER RESPONSE IN THE CLIMBING SECTION THAN IN CHAINSAWS. Sorry, didn't mean to shout.😏
  24. Does it play music as well ? I'm holding out for one with climate control 😉
  25. Our Hunter stove body is made of steel boiler plate and it hasn't warped in the years since I installed it. The door is cast iron and glass.
