  7. Hi guys , as you all know I had a break in at my workshop and had my 880 stolen , well I have had a massive bit of luck a charity that helped me when I had my accident a year ago have helped me again and only gone a paid for a new 880 for me so chuffed , so my question is should I run it in with some cross cutting on like half Rev like it says in the book or just run it like a smaller saw and just rev it up from the start
  8. Hi guys the arblease guys are totaly helpfull I have been talking to them about a woodland mill , Iave no credit rating as I have never had a bank loan , mortgage store card or any credit at all and they seemed to think that wouldn’t be a problem , it will cost a bit in interest though £800 on 3 grand but if you ain’t got 3grand then hey . Good luck Cheers Mark

  10. Hi guys we are so far from what I started saying it’s bonkers but hey , I was going to comment on the way the rich ruling class has set up our society from the very beginning but I wouldn’t Cheers Mark
  11. Hi get yourself a bus or horse box and convert it , me and my girlfriend and her daughter lived in a converted coach for yrs , had a Rayburn for heat and the best apple crumble ever , lived in a converted lorry and was night watchman for an industrial est in Cambridge, as long as you have tax and mot you can park anywhere , talk to farmers one might let you park on their land in exchange for some tree work , but if you do get lucky like that keep it quiet , best of luck , we have been thinking about getting a removals lorry to convert , check out Tiny House Movement Cheers Mark
  12. Hi I was of the same thinking as Khriss and it was just his attitude oh come and clear my road like a s a p and just keep the wood but I want the small stuff , he did contact me later yesterday afternoon saying he had got the tree dealt with and the butt was in his yard did I want to buy it I offered to mill it for him and share the planks but he just wanted to sell it , oh well on to the next one Have a good day Guys Cheers Mark
  13. Hi guys I had a gent ring me wanting me and a mate to price up tidying up some big oak trees , not had time yet , so at half 8 this morning he rings me one of the oaks has come down blocking his private road , come and clear it up for me he says you can have the wood , how many of you would have done it for the wood , just curious Cheers Mark

  18. Hi guys , I am thinking about getting a finance deal on a woodland mill do you rate them would they stand up to almost constant use Thanks Mark
  19. Hi gus in my humble opinion I think get the biggest bloody saw you can so that way when that really big butt comes your way you will have the saw to cope with it as you can always put a 2ft bar on a bigger saw but not the bigger bar on the smaller saw and obviously big saws are just ace fun Cheers Mark
  20. Hi Bill, haven’t you got a saw you can sell him you normally have one or two for sale , still haven’t used the one you sold me I have been waiting on a decision on funding for a new 880 so reluctant to buy a bar and chain for it until I know, Hi Mr Oaf defo go for the biggest saw you can get and being a Sthil man I would go for a Sthil parts for older saws are still quite easy to get and Sthil UK are very helpful the old bloke in the parts store is a font of spares knowledge,if I get the funding for an 880 I will sell you the 076av that I have for what I paid for it if works out timing wise ,good luck milling is addictive so much so I am now looking at a woodland bandmill getting too old to be down on my knees with a big saw all day. cheers Mark
  21. I agree get some resin , or Colron lacquer too nice to burn
  22. Hi amazing vids so cool , as far as I know the French used to season their oak for their buildings by leaving it in the lake or river , kinda makes scens, I rescued an Elm log out of the river and once the outside was dry I milled it and lovely boards and very stable wish I had more of it only got one board left .
  23. Hi I have 2 Holly saw logs in my yard and they are defo from a tree 5/6ft long 14/16 inch diameter, defo tree trunks.
  24. Hi I have had ashma all my life , the usual puffers etc , doing spray painting as a job didn’t help , and now yrs and yrs working with wood I have COPD , no cure but looked into breathing treatments, liquorice tea helps it’s very subtle, manukau honey , it’s F###ing scary not being able to catch your breath , breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth works really well if you are having an attack but it’s quite hard to master especially when all you want is to gulp in mouth fulls of air and you start to panic, but just slow down and breath and keep an eye on the colour of your lips if they start to go blue ring 999. All the crap being sprayed into the atmosphere don’t help either but that’s a topic of its own Happy Christmas All. Mark
