  1. Or if you can get it use greenheart it polished up really nicely and they use it for pier pilings so is ace in and around water a carpenter I know made a spiral staircase out of it that descended to a swimming pool it was stunning
  2. You could always resin coat it and then no worries you could use what you like

Wow you will be able to swim in that cool as , have a look at crystal clear water a friend of mine looks after a big pond and he treated it with it when he first started and now it’s nice and clean to swim in ,not saying yours isn’t but just thought I would share the knowledge, good luck looks ace wish I had the land to do something like that

  6. Yes but have you ever seen gangs of bright red worms , worming their way across your yard , I know it’s bloody stupid but it’s been bugging me for yrs How do the little buggers get there

  8. Oh no don’t make it into 2 inch big chunky coffee table just cut off enough for 2 legs hidden casters so you can move it , big mortise and tenon joints it would be ace
  9. Ha ha ha but I don’t want a house full of worms bloody dropped the iPad and it bounced off the coffee table it still works at the mo but not sure how long it will last

So at the risk of sounding totally daft ,here goes ....so, my yard is concrete so why, if I have to move a log that’s been there for a while (especially upright) why are there always worms underneath??? I never see stealth worms wriggling across the yard, they don’t live in the bloody log so where do they come from??? how do they get there??? are they really an alien intelligence that’s mastered teleporting, just waiting their time to change shape and take over ....or am I reading too much science fiction???

  15. Hi Jon if I had a tow bar and a flat trailer no worries but that’s the problem and the timber isn’t worth spending much money on so might just have to tell the tree surgeon who has been paid to remove it that I can’t move the last of it it will probably piss him off but what else can I do

Hi Steve it the notless butts I have left to move if I manage to move it you are welcome to some if you want it it’s bloody heavy it took 4 of us to carry a 10/12ft long plank 2and half inch thick , I do find it bonkers that I am willing to give this nice timber away for free to anybody who wants to come and get it I will even help load it .

  19. Hi if you look at the 2nd picture it does not have any nots in the timber it’s from the base of the tree but it does have some nice figuring and almost spalting so worth milling , but hey if I have to ring it up then it will probably end up as fire wood .
  20. Hi managed to get it sorted, I have 2 butt's left to move can anyone help it has to be done by Friday morning at the latest otherwise I will have to ring it up and that will be a shame Thanks Mark

  25. Hi just finished chainsaw milling one of the bigger butt's, fucking hard work and bloody heavy, most full on day since my accident good fun milling though knackered now though
