  1. Hi cedar of Lebanon is an ace timber for outside benches as with any cedar it’s also very good for blanket box’s and wardrobes as the bugs hate it , one of my favourite woods I have made quite a few benches out of cedar of Lebanon , hope this helps and do post some pics of what you make Cheers Mark
  2. Hi Danish oil or osmo but it depends on how dark you want them to be you could do some testers on the inside to make sure you like the colour before committing yourself, You maybe able to help I am looking for a broken air rifle or just the stock , I have been playing around with some steampunk ideas and would like to make a steampunk rifle but I would like something to start from if you come across something that might work for me please give me a call good luck with the grips Thanks Mark
  3. Sorry guys not ignoring any advise but was reluctant to drill holes in the bench , and yes I totally need a bandsaw but I have not been able to work since January F###ing skint now so a bandsaw will have to wait unless anyone has one they don’t want any more . Cheers Mark

  11. Hi thanks ,my set up is a microwave transformer but having watched that vid I will be on the lookout for a neon one , but knowing how bloody dangerous it is I always stand well back and wait a few min after I have switched off the power before I touch anything just to let any residual charge drop away and bicarb mixed with water not salt , I watched and watched vids read loads before having a go the first time was quite scary but good fun as Isaid if anyone wants to come and have a day doing it just give mea call Thanks Mark
  12. Thanks guys I am quite surprised that my mirror didn’t get more comments but hey , Thanks Guys I love watching it happen and as long as you don’t F##k about it’s ok I have seen people in America holding on to the electrodes and I would think doing something like that would be total F###ing asking for trouble, I stand well away and use a stick to turn the plug on and off , If you want I could do a fractles day with a few of us let me know , I want to do big tables and benches . Thanks Guys
  13. Slightly off topic but do watch out for the small copper washer that seats the injectors with sprinters even new ones so I have been told these washers snap and then black sticky stuff glues itself to the engine and it’s a f###ing nightmare to remove I sold mine for export when it happened to mine
  14. Hi I help to look after a large converted farm and out buildings and we had rats I n the loft we used Roban poison it’s what they call a coagulant which means as they die they get thirsty and bugger off looking for a drink but obviously it don’t work every time , also it’s absolutely imperative that you find where they are getting in or more than likely even if you deal with the ones you have now more will arrive as rodents follow scent trails Good luck with dealing with them , even though I think even rats need to have somewhere to live , Not in peoples homes Cheers Mark
  15. Thanks , it’s not the best photo but taking pics of mirrors isn’t easy especially when I am on crutches, I would like to do a big table like it with glow in the dark resin but that will have to wait until I can afford the resin . Thanks Mark

  18. Hi guys just a quick up date , I can now put half my weight on my leg still in the airsoft boot back in the hospital in 3 weeks and hopefully I will be able to put all my weight on it but as for getting back to work properly probably another 3 months , not been able to book any shows for the summer , as I don’t know when I will be walking unaided so if any of you can put any work my way , making tables , benches. , boxes etc that would be fantastic, we managed to deliver 2 out of 4 benches to the National Trust and they were over the moon with them as they were expecting 400/600 people at the opening event this weekend in Foxbury near Southampton it’s a cool forest school type place. Cheers Mark

  22. Yeah the first butt I milled was Beech but I managed to get 2 pairs of book matched spalted boards , be warned though milling is addictive, good luck Cheers Mark

  24. Hi made my first candle stick holder will take some pics later but disaster has struck the grub screw that holds the tool rest in place has broken and I am now having trouble finding something to fit I tried a bolt but it just kep coming undone but I may have the opportunity to have a posh lathe with a movable face plate for big bowls , but going to have another go at finding something to replace the broken grub screw . Cheers Mark
