So I am making another big table and having the same issue I always have when cutting say 6x6 oak legs flat on both ends I don’t have a saw big enough and as far as I can find out neither does any woodshop near me ,cutting with a hand saw is a F###ing nightmare, cutting half way and turning it over is never that good how do you all manage ,looking forward to hearing your replys Cheers Mark

Hi guys I just haven’t done any carving in a long time working on getting my bandmill sorted a shed for it etc but I totally agree we should do something to revitalise the forum,as for swearing it don’t bother me a swear all the F###ing time but in context and not aimed at people,as soon as I do some carving I will defo post it hear cheers Mark

  4. Nice job with the burr. I use Eli Chem for the resin and the glow powder and they are so helpful on the phone ,but taking photos is a nightmare,I have used Easy Composits resin and didn’t think it was as good , there are all sorts of glow in the dark colours on eBay but I have not bothered to order any so can’t say what they are like
  5. Hi oh yes totally F##ed the band it ended up behind the band wheel ,but I thought I would use that one to get it set back up then when it looks good I will change it for the only new one I have left I need to order some more .

Hi guys I have just changed the nylon bushes on my HM 130 and now I want to change the band roller bearings where do you all get yours and do they have a code number .Also having trouble tracking the band I started the mill and tried to make a cut forgetting that I had not tightened the tracking bolts up now the tracking is way out and it all being new to me kinda struggling a bit anyone who has one fancy coming and giving me a hand ,that would be ace Thanks Mark

I have plenty but I can’t understand why it’s not very popular I think it’s ace , it’s stable has really interesting figuring with its notts , admittedly it don’t last outside but for inside furniture it’s ace ,I did some big chunky shelf’s for my daughter and her and her mates all love them,so why do most saw millers not like it ,there is a shop near me that sells pine furniture that is bloody expensive so I really can’t understand why M P is so disliked Cheers Mark

Sorry for putting this on here but could not find the for sale forum, so this saw has no compression not been taken apart so not sure what is wrong for sale as spares or repair if its of any use to anyone here's the link for it on eBay.   12. A CNC planing jig for big slabs now that would be cool set it to go and come back later and your slab is done ! I have a big workshop with mig ,tig ,plasma cutter not very good with the welders but let’s a few of us get together and make some for ourselves

Hi it may be obvious but have you checked the air filter ,on my old 880 the one that got stolen the air filter was always getting full of sawdust making it hard to start and under powered as with most things look for the most obvious first a good clean fresh fuel and then see what happens,good luck hope you get it sorted

Hi yep ,it came from the woodland on the small est I help to look after,had a deal to get it milled but unfortunately the matey F###ed me over and I only ended up with one slab from 3 trees ,but hey what a slab, the Mayer in question had a terrible accident so Carma got him so I didn’t need to , ended up settling our differences and he passed me a couple of jobs funny old life

  18. Yep we always get toads in our yard under some old logs in the sawdust I have a nice damp compost heap full of bark old bits of log and I relocate the toads to it ,and seen a good few wood wasps fuck they are scary looking .
  19. Hi yep about £1500, and you have the fiddly glazing bars to make then the glass cutting the glass to size and putty ,knifing putty in is a bit of an art in itself. I have Doug Fir but not dry .Good luck and do post some pics Cheers Mark

  22. Hi I did but to be fair someone who said they are like 20min away would be up for it and I didn’t want to step on his toes and Exeter is a hour and half away prob 2 hrs by the time I find the address ,but maybe a PM in case he don’t do the job

Hi everyone,so having got myself a woodland mill and a 25 inch wide thicknesser , I am now skint and all my work has dried up ,so if anybody wants anything making or knows someone who does I would very much appreciate the work , I need to buy a 3 phase converter to run my new thicknesser.
