  1. Been cutting lots of rhody on sensitive sites. Stump treatment uses minimum amount of glyphosate. I've just accepted that it's for the greater good. Timing is crucial, has to be on very fresh cuts, <5 mins really, cambium needs treatment, not the whole cut face, so it's really small amounts. Follow up in early summer with foliar application.
  2. Er, you mean Ecoplugs, that contain.......er....Granular glyphosate?
  3. Hi All. Got some work planting conifers. It's a restock site. Quite steep ground, all brash raked. How many trees can I expect to plant in a day?? Cheers.

  10. Probably worth contacting the local rights of way team at the county council. They might be helpful with notices/ closures etc, if it's a prow. Sent from my E5823 using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Yeah, that is a tiny weenie bit BONKERS!!! Near me there are always spotty lads driving silage trailers about like Nigel Mansell, in their £100k tractors. Sent from my E5823 using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Why put fuel that costs £3/litre in them? Better off draining the fuel, clean the tanks our, changing filters etc, and leaving them empty. Then when you or someone else uses them next, fresh fuel, ready to roll. Sent from my E5823 using Arbtalk mobile app

  23. Thanks guys. I've been using it a bit, but without the skidding cone. I was reluctant to spend the extra £180, might might just bite the bullet! I've got those 70kn pulleys. They're great. I'm using 11mm line coz that's what I had a 200m reel of, sat around, but thinking of getting a length of thicker stuff, as I find the 11mm gets snagged up a bit on the capstan.
  24. Physio will probably say that it's good to strengthen the muscles around the injury, so put gym membership on your Xmas list!
