  1. "I Sell Cheap" the fountain of all wood chopping knowledge, hope everyone has there notepads at the ready :001_tt2: Hows business I Sell Cheap, all good?
  2. Your probably better off getting one of these, cheaper and safer. ABBEY PRO LOG Saw Horse With Chainsaw Clamp ((Limited Special Offer)) - Accessories/Lubricants Find Saw Horses Buy UK I have one and it was the best money I had ever spent on equipment.
  3. Ive managed to split about 20 ton of oak with a maul and a roughneck wood grenade. But if the wood isn't straight then it becomes bit of a nightmare.
  4. Would love to do something like that and you could use the same syndicate to buy in large amounts of timber rather than lots of people looking for smaller amounts. Good Idea!
  5. Windfall on here is a log supplier on the Isle of Man, try giving him a shout!
  6. Where is the wood? Some people on here might take it away for you to for firewood.
  7. Very true, but if I was to sell Laylandi there would be a large difference in price compared to the softwood I sell. Its one way of competing with the cheap firewood sellers though.
  8. And don't forget that I Sell Cheap has taught us all how to use our moister meters as well, very nice of him :001_tt2:
  9. Funny how "I Sell Cheap" disappears when he/she is asked about their setup! Would love to know
  10. I've spoken to this guy in a show in the summer and he told me he has been selling hundreds of them. Good idea and is probably making him a fair bit of money too.
  11. You can tell the log sales are going well at the minute as the Firewood Forum has gone relatively quite Jon :001_tt2:
  12. On the other hand if you charge too much the council may well turn around and refuse to pay as you were never asked by them to do the work.
  13. How much do the boxes cost and for what size? Thanks
  14. I agree the first photo looks like birch and the second looks like alder or goats willow. TBH if your getting the wood for free I wouldn't worry whether they are good burners or not so long as its are well seasoned it'll will burn fine. Some wood you may have to top the stove up more often than others but that will be your only problem Sam
  15. If they didn't have a chainsaw to take it down with how are they going to get it out the middle of the road haha!
  16. Ah that's pretty cool. I haven't got the 550XP but looking to get one in the near future but didn't know whether to get the heated handle or not. But as you can turn it on a off then I think that would be a few extra quid well spent.
  17. Sorry to go off thread a little but, can you turn the heated handle on and off or is it just permanently heated?
  18. Had a reply from one company and even the cheapest system will still cost an arm and a leg to buy. Ive found a few weigh bridges around us so Ill just us them instead.
  19. Get onto Stihl I would, with there meeting everyone before we sell you anything policy they might have something to say about it as it is all new kit.
  20. Yer its great having them on the yard, not only does it stop people coming up on the yard but if anyone is close to fencing they will swamp them and make one hell of a racket. But they have got to be one of the most clumsy animals ever, they fall over there own feet
  21. Yep it is, with something like 800kg payload
