  1. Made me laugh haha :laugh1:
  2. Hopefully there will be a course that my other half can go on so she can learn how to stack a log pile without it falling over within the next hour. Then again she can stay in and make the tea. Haha
  3. Just out of interest what saws are you running with? I have a Stihl 024, badly maintained, probably had some really bad fuel put in it but yet it still runs fine, we don't use it day in day out but it has lasted for at least 20 years
  4. Looks like a big log splitter show down!!! I don't think I can take much more!! :001_tt2:
  5. Just wondering whether anyone has any experience of this funding circle or any other similar companies. If legitimate it looks like a great place to invest or take out business loans. Hopefully it will be of some use to people on here. https://www.fundingcircle.com/homepage
  6. I would buy in an artic just to have a play with it, but I'm impatient like that. You'll have to put some videos of it on here arrives.
  7. Mmmmm if only I had the money Looks like a great bit of kit.
  8. That was going to be my next question, just from reading on the interenet you can find out for most hardwood stands you can yield about 3-5 tonnes per year per hectare (please correct me if I am wrong) to be sustainable. They must have a fair amount of land, you will have to think about investing in some decent extracting kit to get the wood to where ever it needs to be. Good luck with it, sounds like you've got a great deal.
  9. How big the woodland for starters? And are you paying the farmer for taking out the wood? As someone said on another thread, you need to be producing over 800 tons of wood for you to make a decent living, with the 2 of you working your looking at producing 1600 tons a year.
  10. Sam your inbox is full mate.
  11. Does anyone know of someone with a tractor and timber trailer in South Wales. I need some wood shifted in the near future, we are based in Merthyr Tydfil.
  12. 12cbm of grindings!! jeezzz that's a fair bit. Looks a good, and tidy job, good on you!
  13. Jon you could change you business plan from going for big butts to supersized butts with that saw :001_tt2:
  14. This is why we should create an arbtalk firewood syndicate. Have a large number of companies to allow us to bid on large quantities/stands for harvesting for wood and then distribute the wood to who wants it/whoever has paid in for it. It would probably take a lot of work to create, and even then it probably wont work very well!
  15. That's probably one of the main reasons for the shortage, if I could sell all my firewood to one person for a cut down price it makes my job a lot easier, unfortunately.
  16. Haa same here Put a smile on my face with the sound
  17. Or upload a picture of the facebook logo to your website and hyperlink the image to your facebook page
  18. Looks good and pretty quick as well
  19. I would leave the wood unsplit and undercover outside for a few months so they part season. After a spell of dry weather I would then bring them into the shed and that should stop the mould.
  20. Ive corrected that for you haha :laugh1:
  21. As the title says.... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153666030425099&set=a.10153183766620099.1073741825.81751285098&type=1 Glad to see the public are looking after the neighbourhood! Hope he gets found out.
  22. Lets hope they have fire extinguisher at the ready then :001_tt2:
