  1. This is what ive been looking at mate, just haven't got the funds at the moment Buy Axminster Heavy Duty Flexible Drive Unit from Axminster, fast delivery for the UK
  2. New crankcase from stihl is about £240 + vat.. not good.
  3. Oregon certainly where making bars for it. (type 75 powermatch)
  4. You mean in relation to the air filter? As in inlet trumpets? Not sure what difference they would make but on a 4 stroke you can adjust the torque pattern of a motor by different lengths. I trialled a few on a hayabusa Turbo I built and made a difference, so did the length of exhaust in relation to setting up mid or top end torque.
  5. Least there was no stump grinder work involved lol.
  6. The original 10mm stihl 044 and the 372xp not far behind it. Capable of literally everything you can throw in its way yet not to heavy, yet easy to work on and parts are readily available.
  7. Got a pic? Maybe they can be substituted? That's confusing, so you have to hold it in manually and listen for it to fire before releasing it? Edit Just looked and a decomp for a 090/070 is only £6 odd + vat! Considerably cheaper than 051-075/076 range
  8. Why do you have to hold it in? Is it faulty and weak? They are still available at about £22 as ive just bought 2. I know where your coming from about using decomp. The 075 had a blanking plug which I soon changed hence 1 decomp, the other like your was weak and would pop out every time even if it didn't fire.
  9. Got a friendly potato farmer near by? They will have a destoner if you talk nicely to them. Farmers will do anything for cash in hand,
  10. Problem is around my area machine shops are limited alongside the fact being such a minor customer compared to the norn you end up waiting weeks for simple jobs so i tend not to bother if i can help it. Just worked out how much my muffer mod area is at now, 80.59% of the inlet, Couldn't have found a better bit of tube lol. Im happy with that.
  11. Looks like a 2-3 tonne bottle jack so coud be uprated altho I bet those feet sink well if your not putting any pads under them?
  12. Lol. just wait til you go to file it and find out theres something abnormal about that to like an oddball file or its been butchered with a wrong sizer.... Im surprised its lasted long enough to need the chain sharpened.. Its a rebadged einhell btw if you ever get it in again.
  13. Seen the 1 owner 070 on ebay? Liquid gasket should be ok, you sure the cylinder base is a flat surface and your leaving it 24 hour to dry? Worse case scenario get some gasket paper in the desired thickness you require. I must admit I use the decomp on the 075/076 rather than bust a gut and wrenching my arm out its socket.
  14. Damn, that means we don't get a laugh at your expense tonight Rich..
  15. Quick google search its an Aldi own brand jobby
  16. Expect it will just be a carb adjust Rich on the chinkysaw. Another machine with silly spline screws I reckon just to make life a bit more complicated than it has to be...
  17. Not to bad thanks tho didn't bagain on still having to double over every time a cough or sneeze is imminent lol "For vehicles or vehicle and trailer combinations with a gross or train weight of more than 3.5 tonnes and up to 7.5 tonnes, tachographs are not required to be fitted and the EU Drivers’ Hours rules don’t apply when that vehicle or vehicle combination is used on a non-commercial basis. When deciding whether or not a vehicle is legitimately used non-commercially, we must apply the same criteria as we do for the application of goods vehicle operator licensing – is the vehicle used for hire or reward or in connection with a trade or business?" In others words you get penalised if your a trader but Jo Bloggs who may drive with a trailer once in a blue moon can do it without a tach? Just another reason to have unsignwritten vehicles
  18. Maybe im wrong but I believe its only the vehicle and doesn't relate to a trailer if your towing 1? Ive got a 3 1/2 ton plated transit but Im under the impression I can still tow aswell etc without a tach. If what your saying right then pretty much every 4x4 towing a caravan and hire company that towes around mini diggers etc would need a tacho which is incorrect. If you where carrying a load that exceeded 3 1/2 tonnes in/on your landy alone then yes a tach is required.
  19. Cant beat the torque of the old saws. May not be the fastest compared to newer saws but they wont die as soon as you push hard on them. Even the likes of the 051 89cc will bury a 42" bar to its hilt and pull it.
  20. Blind guess to help bleed the system?
  21. I cant say I know the saw. You may struggle to get spares tho if you need any at any time.

  23. I know the feeling tho not that strong a price here. Ive been looking for a Walbro RWJ4 carb off a 372 x-torq but haven't come up trumps yet. New price is silly. The standard carb I think will be ok but it would be nice to go almost 2mm bigger on the carb.
  24. Be interesting to say how your install goes aswell then. is that a dink on the crown where its hit a plug in the past not that it will cause an issue? I really need to find an old dog of a 372 or 365 altho even they make strong money. Would be nice to have a form of test bed.
  25. Think long and hard about which kit to buy. Most are big bore going are from 357 to the 359 topend which altho a 2cc increase you will lose out as you will be going from closed ports on the 357 to open ports on the 359. Not sure what ive got, is that all you have is the crankcases? I know I have a still boxed zama el-42 carb on the shelf which is the largest carb available for the 357 but as its only been used once to test a saw I will want reasonable money for it.
