  1. Try swapping the covers over and trying the bars on the other saw see if they bind on that one.
  2. Just because they claim its mix that was the issue don't take it as gospel. Overrevving will cause the same issue due to excessive heat. Likewise a lean mix etc can score the piston in a similar way. Its all to easy for the dealer to blame "bad mix" was the cause in my eyes. Yes that could well be the case for the hobbyist saw user or homeowner saw user but theres normally a deeper reason for a strong/professional saw user who usually tends to mix fuel/oil in there religious rituals.
  3. You haven't got a missing metal shield or chain buffer from the cover have you?
  4. 26mtrs I would say a tadge more like 30 or so.
  5. Seconded. If your cutting bigger stuff as much as smaller stuff it will make life easier. Yes a bit more weight but you also wont be using it for so long as a smaller saw as it will be quicker.
  6. No but radmores are 2 mins away from me lol
  7. Shame your not a bit closer Big T I would've gone over/thru it for you as prob got a tool to fit and tune it etc. The initial dealer isn't within spitting distance of me are they?
  8. Same as the carlton s2 mount Cannon Super Bar Chainsaw Bars Mikes Chainsaw Shop
  9. Oregon 30 Inch Laser Tip Chainsaw Bars | Clark Forest 30" Bar 92 drive link chain 0.63 (1.6mm) .404 Basically a bar which was made for the stihl 070/090. However it will also straight fit the 07 S, 08, 08 S, 050, 051, 075, 076, 084, 088, E30, MS880 The only difference is the 070/090 bar has an extra oiling hole in the bar.
  10. Forget 4-mix for a start and im sure some others will agree, prob not all. You have to scream them as no low down torque and can be problamatic. Personally I would go 2 stroke but that's just me. Cheaper, easier to fix, more straightforward to work on, cheaper to buy and usually a bit more go but a little thirstier and I guess you don't need to mix up fuel. Most of us prob aren't bothered about the fuel mix scenario as we already do it for chainsaws, strimmers hedge trimmers and alike so usually have it on tap anyway.
  11. Prob best to ask in the mower thread possibly? http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/maintenance-help/68842-mower-bench-35.html As Stubby says the spark plug isn't wet then?
  12. Check the fuel line first. I had an 026 that had literally melted due to its age. There are 2 different fuel lines for the 24/240. Both interchangeable with each other but I get the later one as its longer so easier to get the filter on Check the above first. Secondly the carb boot can be troublesome and split on 024/026's. Easiest to remove carb and drop the handle off to inspect properly, its a bit fiddly but not difficult, whilst doing that check the impulse line basically as it makes sense at that point to quickly inspect its condition. Obviously with the carb off at this stage is pays to open it up and give it a clean.
  13. They can be bought off the shelf with 16" 3/8 1.3 set up which is the same as the 211 etc. They wont be very fast with it tho, you certainly wouldn't want to bury the bar on it!! I guess if its just a reach thing to stop you stretching or bending its not so much of an issue if only being used on small stuff.
  14. Get the disciplinary procedure copy as I said mate. Go take advice from a solicitor and make the most of the 30 minutes free advice. Its amazing how they (companys) can back track and sort issues out if they know your not just going to walk away but kick and scream when it comes to solicitors involvement. Also how do you know what they have been told is actually what has happened in reality and not just been fed a story?
  15. We done that with black widows Also done it with "the gat" air pistol things and agreed on "body shot only" however I still have the scar on 1 cheek to prove we could never keep to our word How no one lost an eye was beyond me..
  16. As it was known to them at the time which by the sounds of it it was then any wrong doing should have been taken up then. Sounds like a largish company you work for if they have HR etc. Every company should "by law" have a disciplinary procedure in writing available for any employee that ask for it. Make sure you get a copy!! It will be invaluable for you and the solicitor.
  17. Cant even see how they have a case if it was the long ago and only just doing this now over a year later.
  18. https://www.gov.uk/find-out-if-i-can-buy-or-carry-a-knife It is illegal in a public place I believe if its over 3". However its difficult if the "weapon" is in the truck so to speak and gone and got for its intention. Its hardly being carried in person. Ie if it was in your pocket 24/7 walking in the local high street you deserve to get a boot up the arse. Police in 1 instance asked me to dispatch 1 deer when I offered as the local forestry commission would take an hour to get there for a deer that clearly wouldn't have lasted that long. I would try and get your free 1/2 hr advice off a solicitor in this instance, afterall you have nothing to lose.
  19. So if you where a climber and you carried a knife in case you got into difficulties/tangled up a tree and it wasn't "company issued equipment" what then? Would they sack you for saving your own skin? As said theres 2 sides to every story etc tho. I will be first to admit tho theres a knife in all 3 of my vehicles. Yes theyve "coup de graced" a few deer along the way but they cut lots more sheep out of thick bramble, cut the seatbelt from a girl of a rolled car on its roof at 5am, cut countless bales of hay, etc down to sharpening pencils or cutting food.
  20. Take off the exhaust and check for the sake of undoing 4 screws and a few minutes. As spud says scoring on the piston isn't good news but doesn't mean it will cost a fortune either or the saws junk. Ive known larger saws tuned for longer bars and a shorter bar used and seizures taken place fairly quickly due to overrevving. Also husqvarnas seem to need to be tuned more frequently compared to stihl in my experience. 45-1 wont damage your engine which isn't an issue in this case I don't think (just an unlucky coincidence) . Its like having the correct engine oil in your car but if your going to scream it up the motorway in 4th gear its going to get warm/hot
  21. I think your right. According to a service bulletein there where manual decamps prior. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=7&ved=0CH0QFjAG&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mymowerparts.com%2Fpdf%2FHusqvarna-Service-Bulletins%2FB0301033.pdf&ei=QQdUU5bSGcnbPbPhgNAG&usg=AFQjCNHriX8VtUBPg63hqKP-SDaIKsnfzw&sig2=f0TjRn-R1ar8VJoZzleV_w&bvm=bv.65058239,d.d2k
  22. When did the 357 come out? Im not really sure but know the 02 models had them as had 1 myself which I replaced with the blue button. Only got rid of it last year still on the original pot altho I did replace a piston on it. Usually its actually the rubber pipe that splits between the tail and the decomp fitting in the barrel rather than the fitting itself ive always found.
  23. Auto decomps tended to be around the 01-03 saws ive always found. Never seen one on saws much later than that. Valid point tho as they would leak causing issues and simply a case of blocking off the tail on the front right of the saw underneath the exhaust (looks a bit like an impulse tail) and fitting the manual decomp in the barrel.
  24. Silly question but how do you bore out the holes so neatly? Great work, I don't have the patience for that sort of thing normally but the other half does enjoy her wine...
  25. Its "a year old from new" so shouldn't have the auto decomp-only the very early models had that. Likewise highly unlikely crank seals either
