  1. I can see that might possibly knock a few customers off the fly-tippers list. But it will hardly hit the real culprits, even if the council gets some much needed cash.
  2. Cleared for a while, even had some sun. But then it went to hail, rain, sleet and now rain. Cat is definitely not impressed.
  3. Copious amounts of rain moving sideways.
  4. High gusts earlier but nearly quiet now. Raining so hard it sounded like hail and rolling thunder with some sheet lightning.
  5. Another year on the up for Aspen. May next year be better than this year, for new dealers, present dealers and their sale.
  6. If only you could get elected or be made a Lord. You could cover your losses and not even have to pay taxes on your income and or expenses.
  7. Try this for a working link: http://www.parabeam.co.uk
  8. Damp but still. However, the coming forecast, is less still and a lot wetter.
  9. It's bonkers weather. Got three separate rose bushes coming into bloom; a hydrangea in bloom, even though it's losing leaves; and lettuce out in pots.
  10. Well you do have to go up a hill to get to it.
  11. You what? I presume that's a jest; mind you, what's life without adventure...
  12. The Lakes, south to mid Wales and the south coast. Fortunately, I've family and friends in all, so get to stay here and there. The south coast has a great climate and the scenery isn't bad either. I enjoy the odd jaunt on family and friends' boats. But I miss the fells/mountains when away from them.
  13. They'd be coming about this time of year to clear you out and sell them round the corner for a tenner a bird. As to lasers and cctv - I remember nearly 30yrs. ago, a friend had a shop with a blind alley, so there was a camera. Her brother came in one day with a laser pointer and pointed it at said camera. That trashed the camera in 2-3secs. Friend was not happy! The brother lost every Saturday for three months, minding the shop and not being paid, in order to cover the cost of a new camera.
  14. Partly depends on your needs. If you need penetration, (titter ye not in the back rows.) if you need penetration, get a 177. If you need stopping power on quarry a little bigger, get a 22. Used pointed ribbed in 177 but preferred H+S semi wadcutter. Good initial thump, that then penetrated well, (also used in 22). But favourite all rounder was a 22 H+S brittle nose wadcutter. Brittle out outer nose, with a high deforming inner. Not used over greater distances, due to less stability in flight. Not cheap but excellent pellet with high degree of size & shape tolerances. There'd be 1 maybe 2 duff ones for every 500. Used to be sold lightly pre-oiled in tins of 100.

  16. Not a personal transport, plus you'd need a truck with high ground clearance, a wad of cash and it wouldn't be road legal in the UK. But it does look interesting.
  17. Somewhat windy but has been drying since maybe 02:00. Looks like it will continue through the day..
  18. Hope things turn out for the best. Also hope the scum don't come back for more.
  19. Well we can guess most peoples' weapon of choice.
  20. 1hr 39m sounds about right for queueing time. I'm surprised you managed to squeeze in a bit of shopping too.
  21. If you make charcoal on a small scale, it would greatly speed up the pre-processing. Plus, it makes useable and saleable wood, from what may well otherwise be burnt. If you know people with narrowboats, (that haven't just got a diesel engine) those stoves only take short lengths and small chunks.
  22. Low cloud and light drifting mist.

    On yer bike

Reminds me of 'Going Home' but with more sun. Didn't see the end coming like that... neat!
  25. I know there's more to it than this. But how about, "You said it was good apart from the oiler and I can confirm it's running as good now, as when you last used it. Except the oiler, which is better."
