  1. Huddersfield Where hudders grow wild in a field.
  2. Kingston
  3. Totter (I personally, was rather enjoying only having 'e' as a fourth letter.)
  4. Can't make out where the low cloud meets the rising fog. Snow nearly all gone now.
  5. Endearment
  6. Still thawing.

  11. To my mind and I'm not a local. If they pay for the rebuilding, they get a say in how it looks. They they just want a say but are not footing the bill...
  12. Aired
  13. Chilly. Which in turn does not bode well for the roads this weekend. It recently rained, then snowed and today some of it thawed. It's set to freeze soon and since the local council has decided not to grit or salt roads, there should be plenty of black ice about over the weekend.
  14. Gone.
  15. It's snowing lightly and has been doing so for several hours.
  16. Seem to have missed a ruling. Is it still the fourth?
  17. 06:30 and the rain has ceased its beat but is still coming down. Not often I go away to worse weather. Can't honestly say it's a comfort.
  18. "I'm wanting to keep the bark on so whats the best way of cleaning them?" Mild soapy water applied sparingly with a sponge/cloth. Dan or gently rub. "May take some bark off a couple of them so whats the best way to do this?" Carefully cut round with a sharp craft knife first. Then cut away or peel away. "Whats the best coating for the finished product, Danish oil? Linseed oil? Varnish?" I'd say varnish, makes for a tougher initial surface, (but you don't need to have a great sheen on it. Though oils will continue to protect, after the stick is dented on a rock or something. "Best prep prior to coating?" Finely sand twig ended and knot ends. The remains of a twig or rough bark adds interest. But it'll catch on trouser legs and bare legs. Leave character but think of the end-user. * Fit a brass ferrule for look & longevity. This type will require a pin to secure it; and will need to be predrilled. * Fit a rubber ferrule for grip on most surfaces, (dry ones at least). And the user can change/renew as needed/when worn. Something like this: http://www.cosyfeet.com/walking-stick-ferrules?utm_source=CF_Shopping&utm_medium=Feed&utm_campaign=CF_Shopping&gclid=CN7G0sSPocoCFSoUwwodIn8CRQ#.VpNKUezfWc0
  19. 1. Inch is slightly narrow but makes for a fine came. Better 1 1/8" to 1 1/4". 2" is study but heavy over long distances.
  20. Well Longleat was fine with a clear sky. Now on south coast and it's chucking it down. Bedroom has an adjacent flat roof and the constant noise is keeping me awake. Heck. I've ridden motorcycles that were quieter than this.

  24. Sure that was a 'T', then an 'E'. But now it's 'R'.
  25. Partly depends where it starts and where it finishes. Now I could've said it depends on the distance between the two ends. But if there's knots, the distance may be less, while the length remains constant. Assuming knotted and non knotted are both dry or both containing the same amount of moisture. I also suppose it would have some barring, if one end were weighted. Sorry. What were we talking about? Ah yes, tyres and mileage.
