  1. there is a bee hive down the woods they have taken over a hole in tree how would you tempt them from tree into a hive so you can then have them as i asume the queen would need to come out for them to move. like to have a go.
  2. got a zubat and cracking saw. as for plasters yes very sharp have nicked myself with mine but like anything thats sharp just be careful trouble with silkys they do cut very quick and can take you by suprise how quick it did cut. but the zubat will do most jobs ok and not to big plus can hang from belt or unclip it leaving belt bit on belt
  3. looking good keep the photos coming sounds a good idear not just for shows but for hedgelaying comps can take to comps and sleep in it night before. if its a treck
  4. when we wanted to have look a like musket bullets for putting down barrel we painted maltezeas in gun metal paint looked the biz. downside tried them and they made a dent in armour so were withdrawn from service. thought they would just explode into bits when the musket went off.
  5. so sorry to hear of your loss. never is easy loosing a friend and companion
  6. use your wash bowl used for cleaning dishes in a sprayer and spray it safe and enviromentaly freindly will kill the critters if its ants you can get grease bands which you can attach and it stops them getting up. but normally the ants are after the aphids for there nectar they hold so doing a job getting rid of them.
  7. used look like its been used and abused for a number of years
  8. i was at a show weekend say no more. but a chipper was being demostrated. if you could call that. the reverse sometimes worked sometimes it did not. the speed of the rollers no wonder it was jamming and only putting in the bits off side of larch i saw them stopping this thing trying to pull the timber out stivcking there hands in near rollers. it made me cringe that they were doing this. no instructor near by left to there own devices. the best thing that they could do with that chipper was have it taken to be serviced. my veiws should of not been used.
  9. hate the things with a vengence if it hits stones and it does not have a clutch as other post can do you serious harm. the two men are no better. only good one is on the end of a digger. and they can jam but digger takes the brunt. only one i did try but was a pain to move was a little beaver hydraulic one did a good job but on soft ground so heavy to move
  10. its not just the tree game its ground maintanance. quoted to cut a play area about 2 acres. quoted as per spec cut main grass and surounding areas strim the other bits. i lost the job big firm got it doing it for £30 a cut. but not as per spec. now looking for someone to do rest. when i could of done it to the spec for less thn what its going to cost now. and there not chasing them to do it to spec. as for the gras cutting. well tram lines left after cutting so kids get covered in grass. at least when i do mine there is hardly any grass left if any if i could i lay hedges all year
  11. transits are pants off tarmac. the amount i have seen pulled out of fields when watching racing. my old toyota hilux as not to bad but not brill if it looks dodgy then any 2 wheel drive is going to struggle hence 4x4 as for county transits if you can get one very high off ground how they drive do not know not seen many of them around bit of a lame duck. they say front wheel drive is better but yet to see. have a boxer and if that sniffs anything other than tarmac it gets stuck.
  12. join and do not forget 19th october hampshire hedgelaying comps nr alton. need a few cutters to enter have a mile of good hedge to lay.
  13. sorry to hear of your loss hard to loose a mum. RIP god bless
  14. if ever after good quality BBQ then look up yor local coppice group. have one in hampshire i am a member, dorset, surry sussex have a group. and just formed to the national federation of coppice groups. want to promote the art of coppicing which includes making charcoal. our group are having a trip to a charcoal maker in summer near chichester to see it being done with possibility of a retort in action. be good to see a expert doing it like to have a go on a small scale.
  15. no problem with rural made a claim for septic tank loss adjuster cme out gave him figure no prob paid out. better than NFU never use them again total nightmare to deal with
  16. i do not know how many know of the song the gasman came to call and on and on. well SSE turned up at 12.30am tuesday morning hear this truck coming down drive what the as in bed go out. come to fix snapped pole. pole not snapped its rotten ben like that for 5 years and still waiting for your lot to replace it. look at it yes rotten needs replacing will report it. i have for 5 years. yesterday morning SSE turm up come to fix snapped pole. its not snapped its rotten look at it. yes your on a busy road. needs a chapter 8 in force and half the road coned off. o is that a high force pipeline yes need to get them out can not work on it without them present. and the other pole needs replacing. half hour later pole lorry turns up with one pole. can not do job as need two poles and on busy road. they left to say they will be back. do not hold my breath waiting. may see them in 5 years. best bit trees in way then get your arb team out when you are doing work. need to be reported back and need to go to a different office for arb work. may not be able to do it all at once. i give up. let the thing fall on road then let them take can if someone gets injured or killed due there incompidance. not the engineers but the office.
  17. no they were looking for the greater fly off faster bird. on the increase in the uk. known to be about but yet to be spotted:biggrin:
  18. used tonnes on my play area for kids so soft it about 9inches deep as it rots down just top it up with more. as for rubber play stuff sitting down with a drink. looking at from £50 per sq mtr for wetpour jungle, tiger mulch looks like bark chippings £60 persq mtr. had one done for a council 4ft sq £1500. its good but a very dear product.
  19. trouble with a lot of companys that have got a following because there procucts were first class they live on this and allow there products to become worse due to no one checking the quality. also its down to were can we get this made at the chepest price. hence a number of british companys including ford have moved ther operations to cheaper european countries to get the product made at a fraction of the cost to make it in this country or go to the far east. the british motorbike was a classic believed there bikes were the best japan came in with a better machine the british bike died. triuumph are making a comeback because there bike needed to be as good as the jap models. its the same with saws now Mitox are nibbling at the market. dolmar the same. i am afraid sthil and husky need to wake up or theywill see there market slip away to other makes, due to people being fed up with a inferior product. only glimmer in the car market is the mini land rover bently, nissan, honda toyota made in this country but have a quality build in place.
  20. now with insurance you have to be named on the policy to drive other vehicals. the third party rules does not apply anymore. so if your name is not on that policy you are not insured to drive it. as for being banned. my wife is banned for driving for a year due to her seizures and brain tumor has to be free of them for that time to get her licence back. and she is a carer for the elderly in the comunity. how do you think she feels not being able to drive and no fault of hers, but medical.
  21. i hae just shifted 100 1 tonne dumpers loads of chip using a 1.5 360 and my neuson skip lpader did it in 5 hours. with a 360 witha quick release you can change buckets so quick. you can get a rotating head for them and have a grab for picking stuff up. put a post bonker on them a concrete pick. the jobs you can do with them is endless wish i had the cash get a 2 tonne kubota have a longer dipper arm but same footprint as a 1.5. cracking machines.
  22. the heavy duty tines are the best they are so thick that will last ages if looked after. but tracmaster is the best bet to ask very good firm to deal with. and if working on heavy clay see if you can get some spade lugs to go on outside of wheels or put the metal spade lugs wheels on that will dig in and go through anything had them on one of my big machines and would work on boggy ground just pulled itself through.
  23. for the cost of a back hoe. unless you find a good second hand one better off getting a 360. more verastile can get in places as smaller than a tractor and back hoe. the utilitie companys got rid of all theres as a 1.5 360 was better
  24. hedgesparrow

    Mitox

coppicer has two saws and he rates them as he says 2 year warrenty if it goes wrong he takes it back and gets it fixed. as yet not had to take either back as do not go wrong. all he does to them is swap chains overwhen one goes blunt and put a sharp chain on. got to be worth the punt for what they are asking for them and with 2 year warrenty.
