  1. Welcome to the forum, would you mind popping up a few pictures of the contra? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. How can you not like Stilton? It's even better melted on roast mushrooms Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. Fixed the 090 today, had cleaned the carb and it then wouldn't idle, closer inspection revealed I hadn't put the plastic connector on the fuel strainer on properly all hunky-dory now Next in, partner k650 active I fixed about 6 months ago, owner has had one of his employees straight fuel it, it apparently ran so I checked it, 70psi, pulled muffler and it's a 360 seize! New pot n piston job, will upload pics when I get the parts to do the repair Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. Yes, but I wanna finish earlier, not have to work over doing repairs on a saw, hence why the huskys are better, and the argument that it has .1kW of power more than a 550xp, or more torque is irrelevant, nobody can notice that low an amount of power, and I have yet to meet people who operate the saw in the max torque band for extended periods Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. Long discontinued? It's been less than 10 years, parts are still available. As for age of the machine and part delivery, I'm waiting for wrap handles to fit to my 560 to arrive Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. We don't have loaners over here as some moronic person will straight fuel it, as for the poulan saws, they are fairly decent, they are only homeowner saws after all. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. I think the waiting is the implied problem, PITA at this time of year Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. I'd follow spuds suggestion, and read the what's on your bench thread, it's what I did, I've now rebuilt a couple of saws, including an 090 from the crankcase up, salvaged a 357xp, repaired and modified an 051, plus many others Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. The big huskys sound better than the big stihls, unless it's an 070/090, nothing sounds better than that Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. 2 years EU warranty is Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. Your local dealer should have parts for your saw, the clutch removal tool cost me a huge £3 from my local dealer Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Clutch would drop the revs and cause it to stall, or give chain creep, if the revs are much higher than recommended then either the mixture at the carb is too lean or you have an air leak Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. You'll need a virtual spud to port your saws too Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. It was a newer crankcase Tbf, but had the smaller fuel tank and no manual pump, the only part that suggested 075/076 was the rear hand guard/ muffler cover, but I've seen a few pictures of the 051's fitted with them. And it appeared not to have a decompression valve, slight derail, what compression does your 075/6 pull Alec? I'm thinking my 051 is a little low Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. They are a strong saw, even better with a dual port (magnum) muffler, some have a nasty kick on the starter (older machines) Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. I've been fencing on boggy ground today, it has open water, mud, briars and thorns, it's not pleasant but it's doable Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. Just like to make one more comment about this saw, IT IS AN 051 Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. Another member asked me about this, as I didn't manage to upload the picture when I did it. Basically it's an aluminium block with some M5 bolts through it, I also used an M5 tap on the crankcase and some locknuts Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. +1, and I know many others on here recommend him too Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. Despite the fact that the KPF tests stated otherwise? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Older crank type, if you want to fit AV handles, you'll have to make a mount Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. The front handle mounts, the newer crank has 2 lugs by the bottom of the muffler Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. New or old crankcase? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. Wrap handles for my 560xp, will get outer dogs for it soon too, an adaptor for husqvarna chainsaws and stihl bars Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
