As promised, here's some pics of the bar mod and a quick cut comparison video. The elongated holes are the new one that I have drilled and filed Both saws have a brand new chain and are cutting a 70 year old 8" oak gate post that is like iron. As I said about the power to weight to cut speed ratio. The cs260tes is only a second behind the cs360tes

I'll get some pics of the mod tomorrow and hopefully a video to show how fast it cuts with it. I rarely use my 360tes as the power to weight to cut speed ratio is so close between the two I prefer to take the lighter saw. On the 10" bar i basically cut everything up to 15"ish then get my 550xp with an 18 up with me. To describe the mod...Basically you'll need to drill 2 new holes in the bar for the chain tensioner on the echo and then because it uses the same holes for the oiler you have 2 options. Option 1: take a slit disc on a grinder and cut between the rails down to the new holes to allow the oil to get to the chain Option number 2: take a 5.8mm file and elongate the tensioner holes towards the rails until a little hole appears for the oil to pass through. Having done both of these I would advise against the first option as it's not easy to get the slit disc perfectly between he rails without damaging them
  4. I'm gonna have to retract what I said. It was a colleague that identified it but I didn't hear him change his mind and he now says it's an old dryads saddle bracket

I thought it came with a 1/4 pitch chain and sigihara type bar as standard, or at least that's what I have been lead to believe. Sure I have seen several on here that have come with it. As with my current cs260tes. When I get the this new one I shall be putting a modded ms 150 bar and chain on it, then watch it fly
  6. Was out on a dead beech stem where I was working yesterday
  7. Having used a friends brand spanking forst st8 on its first outing today I'm gonna sway towards the forst
  8. I believe it's simply side loading. I'm careful with mine because I believe this and haven't had an issue but due to its design It wouldn't be difficult to side load it and if I did crack mine I would hold my hands up and say it's my fault. Something as simple as pulling too tight around a branch/stem or decending over a limb for a redirect or something like that could easily side load it without you even realising
  9. I've been on a zz2 since its release and I have had no issues. In my opinion the cracks in the links are down to a climber error as apposed to the link being flawed
  10. I'll second the swabish, before I got the zz that's all I used on 4 wraps and had no issues, still use it on my lanyard. If you knot the friction cord your self instead of an eye to eye you can get really minimal sit back, think it's about an inch or so on my lanyard
  11. I must have read it wrong then but is does say in the pdf for it that it is rated for single line use
  12. I had considered getting getting a zillion and rw as the zillion IS rated for srt
  13. Didn't think the zz was rated for srt?
  14. SAS lubricant contains ptfe
  15. I clean with water, dry with airline then use SAS lubricant, get it all nicely worked in then a quick blast with the airline again to blow off all excess lubricant. Done this for 3 year and not had any bother
  16. Really like that highland cow, nice work
  17. That'll be the cs2510tes your looking for
  18. Does anybody know if chainsawbars are still doing any promotions/discount for members of arbtalk?
  19. And referring to another post, maybe the re introduction of the pm would mean fewer numbers of rabbits and rats? It's an eco system messed up by humanity in my opinion, it managed fine before we started messing with it.
  20. I know I'm just picking at one part of this post but if the above does happen then partial normality will be restored. The pine marten population was UK wide long before the introduction of the greys and personally I'm all for it. Would sooner see our native reds and pine martens than the greys and if I'm not mistaken there is a national cull in force on greys that was instigated by prince Charles I believe. No use in waiting though, I hear squirrel is quite nice
  21. I'd guess so as one pulled up in my local tesco the other day...could hardly contain my self! It was the 4500 v8 d4d, did get a pic but won't allow me to upload sadly
  22. Cheers for the insight but it isn't actually a go pro so didn't come with any software of any kind. I need to do some more vids really and do a bit more trial and error but I'll take into account what you said about bit rate and stick closer to standard. Yes it's recording in 1080p@30fps. One thing I couldn't understand is that I can't play the 2k/4kvids on my laptop, guess that's just down to age and hardware nor being up to the job. Would a mac be better for this kind of thing or is windows fine with the right hardware and program
  23. Neither can i
  24. So I got a go pro style camera for Christmas and as it's my first cam I'm new to all this editing and what not. I have a laptop running windows 7 and have been having a play around with windows live movie maker but don't really know what I'm doing. Can't seem to get any good quality videos to watch. Played with the save setting and set up a custom one at 1920x1080 30fps and 130000kb bit rate but doesn't seem as good as I was expecting. What am I doing wrong? And is there a better program I could be using? Thanks in advance George
  25. You will struggle getting an apprenticeship in the Rasen area but if you had tickets you may get some subbing work. My self and another operate our own businesses in market Rasen and there's lincs trees up the road but as I said, without tickets your not really going to get anywhere
