  1. I have become aware of them from this post. Although I believe it's a good idea they are rather expensive for something that eats into your load capacity. I have been quoted 1895 by another company for the same thing and I could get a full tipper conversion for 3500
  2. I'm sure Steve will be along to confirm but I don't think the app is available for Windows phones
  3. I know this may be wrong to ask here but I'm curious. I may be looking at selling my jobeau m500 in the not too distant future and I'm not sure how much to ask for it...it's been well looked after, currently has 310 genuine hours and will come with 2 sets of knives and a new counter knife along with a few other spare cables I have and will also have had an engine service
  4. I changed from hiflex to the pfanner arborist and they are really good, lighter, cooler and much better fitting than the hiflex. I'm around 6 months on with that and no issues what so ever
  5. Looks like you caught the throttle with your sleeve, very close call!!
  6. Having bought a small drone for practicing all I can say is take it slow, they are not easy to master. Mine has spent more time crashed than it has in the air haha
  7. Looking at getting a combi tool to use for strimming, brush cutter and hedge trimmer but unsure of which one to go for so looking for people's opinions on the echo, husqvarna and stihl models
  8. Thanks guys, next question is which model to go for as there is 3. What's the differance between them? Fr jones stock them
  9. Hey all. Just landed a load more hedge trimming at the same site meaning I now have 750m to do but it's all hand held hedge trimmer work. Does the easy lift harnes work well with the likes of a Stihl hs81r or is it aimed more at pole hedge trimmers?

    Which Echo?

I could be wrong but I don't believe there is another cutter on the market comparable to the 82r, it's a brutish trimmer and I believe all others are finer cut trimmers

Heres a video of my older 260tes (predecessor to the 280tes) vs my 360tes. Should give you a good idea of how the 280 shapes up
  12. As far as I'm aware, the only differance between mine and a new one is the fold down bit at the top of the hopper and the optional quick release discharge chute
  13. Feel free, thought it was about time a better video surfaced showing its full capability and I hope this one shows it in a good light as it certainly impresses me. Bit of feedback for jobeau here...could the hopper be tapered? If the opening was closer to the full width at the top instead of -6" around and then tapering down to the drum it would be much more efficient as it would take larger crotche's easier. I bought it second hand and paid £4500 inc vat for it with a little over 200 hrs on the clock. With regards to knives, as with any chipper, it all depends how careful you are with what you are putting in but I'd say 40+ hours before I turn the knives over so 80+ before sharpening but I am very careful with what I put in. By folding plate do you mean at the top of the hopper? Mine is an earlier model so didn't actually come with one fitted but I can see the point of it however, you would have to take a running dive to get to the knives on mine, the hopper is deeper than it looks. Re the ramps, I see no reason why with a decent set of ramps it couldn't be loaded in a landy. It's no 4x4 but it's not bad on slopes and offroad, best to shut the revs down before trying to set off though as it spins otherwise. Haha that strap is duel purposed, it's actually there to secure the hopper upright for transport but doubles up well to keep the throttle on as mine seems to vibrate down over time or if you chuck a big lump in which is a little anoying but not a difficult fix.
  14. After much stress trying to sort and render it, I have finally managed to do a video of my m500 on a 30 min session on poplar, sycamore and conifer. Now I know 30 mins of chipping is gonna be boring so feel free to skip through but I have yet to see a decent honest video of the m500 at work. I have done no editing so it's not just the "highlights" so to speak. The largest pieces go through towards the end and are 5-6" poplar. Hope this video helps some make a decission...enjoy.
  15. Love that sink and would love to make one but wouldn't have a clue where to start with waterproofing the wood

A 3.2mm file, but buy the oregon ones not the stihl ones, much better files
  17. I have around an hour of footage so will get it edited and posted to youtube over the weekend then I'll post the link up here
  18. I found this photogenic little chap in France a couple of years ago. Pics taken up close on 21x zoom with a galaxy camera. The last pic is not one of my own but just one I found of an amazing looking lizard called smaug gigantaus, quite fitting as it looks like a dragon
  19. I have an m500 and it's a brilliant machine. Did a job today at the bottom of a circa 150m garden that is not accessible for anything else due to the narrow access and as you were asking yesterday I thought I would get a video so will post the link here over the weekend for you and anyone else that wants to see it in action. With regards to its capacity, I've been chipping poplar, sycamore and conifer up to a good 5" with mine today with out any issues, you just have to keep on top of the bugger bits and pull it out a little if it dies too much but it'll certainly take it. It will chip clean timber but it much prefers some greenery in amongst it.
  20. If you fancy a pvp shooter have a look at walking war robots. Bit of a blunt name but not a bad game

Aparantely it's going to be even lighter but apart from that I'm assuming much the same. I'm only guessing but maybe it will come with a 1/4 .43 bar and chain as stock

I read is as if the engine is clogged, insufficient cooling are can flow around and to the muffler. Glad it's a voluntary recall though, would like to know where I stand if I do keep it till the new one is here.

Yes as I had one fitted to mine but it's not a patch on the 2510 sadly

The guy I spoke to suspects it's just one case and they are just jumping on it as a safety risk. I personally can't really see it being a problem as I clean my saws regularly anyway but as said above, that probably applies to all saws, I have certainly seen smoke coming from my 550xp muffler when it's buried in a cut
