  1. How much does it stretch out when loaded? I worry that the zz bit stretches too far and a lot of pressure is put on the swivel with the pin if you k ow what I mean?
  2. The blade clutch on mine is the same width as the handle so not one sided
  3. The landscaper I sub to is currently swapping all his John Deere r54rkb for the Kubota w819r as it's so much better. I've used both quite a bit and the Kubota out cuts the Deere in every situation and despite the fact it has a 19" deck instead of the 21" on the Deere it's faster, just picks up and packs the grass better, can barely lift the bag when it's full. Can certainly cut a much larger area on a single bag with the Kubota compared to the deere
  4. I'm running a Kubota w819r and it seems a really good machine. Sadly I've not a lot to compare it to as haven't used much in the past but I got the recommendation from a landscaper I sub to who swears by them. He's run all sorts and said the Kubota is by far the best machine he's had, he's just phasing out the last of his big John deer mowers for them as they are so much better. No speed adjustment on the roller model but personally I don't feel it needs it and pick up wet grass a treat. My only gripe is that the blade seems very soft do dulls and dents easily.
  5. 2 springs of the same tension will be harder to pull than one meaning more cruishing force, that's if the one spring isn't the same strength as my 2 springs
  6. Mine is the full fat so that's probably part of the weight saving. The springs are mounted either side of the top roller. All will be explained when I get a pic in the morning.
  7. I'll get one in the morning. Not sure if yours is the sub 750kg model but that may have something to do with it if it is
  8. I've a 2012 Jensen a530 and it has 2 springs on the feed rollers.
  9. I've a Jensen a530 and really rate it, will run rings around a tw/gm 150 and an st6, I can't comment on the 230 as I haven't used one but had people that have used a 230 and said my Jensen certainly isn't any slower. If you do go down the forst route then I'd buy new and look at replacing when the warranty is up, a friend has an st8 and it chews timber up with ease but at sub 250hrs its had a new ecu, new ignition barrel, chassis welded as it was cracked, new discharge chute and several of the other body parts replaced under warranty due to cracks and weld failures which is pretty poor in my opinion considering it's only a year old
  10. What makes you say you wouldn't want any more than 2.7t behind a defender? With regards to the op, as has already been stated, the option to drive and tow bigger and heavier is already there, you just need to go and do another licence which I think is fine. I must admit, when I was employed on a farm it frustrated me that I could tow all that weight behind a tractor you couldn't tow any more than 750kg with my truck but I can see some sense in it a detractors simply handle the weight better in my opinion
  11. All depends on the price of the grinder really
  12. Thank you very much for that and I will certainly give you a call. The truck I would like to do is a dmax so I'm assuming it should be fine to do. For me it was more just finding out if there was anything other than some airbags suspension such as up rated brakes and if the vehicle would then have to be 're tested or if you could simply 're register with proof of parts fitted.
  13. What's involved in updating a dmax to 3.5t, is it as simply as an air suspension upgrade and a 're register or is it more complicated than That?
  14. Hello all, I'm looking for someone to do a tree survey for a client of mine in north lincolnshire. If anyone can help or knows someone who can then please contact me. Kind regards George Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. I'm running a multimount sugihara bar from Rob and it's on 3/8 .43 so the same kerf as the ms150 chain. Flies on this chain but still fancy having it ported and mufler modded to get even faster cuts Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. When you consider that the equivalent eder attachment will run you 250-300+ vat id say this is a really good deal. I know the eder is a complete attachment requiring no bar or chain but even with a bar and chain factored in it's still a good bit cheaper and provided the blades can be obtained easy enough I know which I'd rather buy Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. Looking at it there are 2 things I would change on the x7 and that's to add a second feed roller and put a 35hp ish Kubota diesel engine on it. If it had those things it would certainly compete with the current market Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. On a side note...im not saying there is anything wrong with the gm150, I have used the gm130 quite a bit which is the same machine with a different engine and it's a fantastic machine but side by side with the Jensen there were no questions as to which was the better machine Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. I don't think it's the 750 as the weight plate reads 800kg, still, it's only a 50kg difference so it's a fair enough comparison in my opinion as they are both 6" machines with the same power. I can state though that my comparison wasn't down to power but down to what sort of fork the feed rollers could take Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. The decision has been made and I went for the Jensen a530 with 513 hrs on the clock. Picked it up Monday and I couldn't he happier with it, will certainly do everything I need it to and side by side with the gm150 it was a no brainer. The Jensen is far better built with a fly wheel half as big again as the one in the gm and out of the test wood we put through them there was one the gm simply wouldn't take no matter how it was orientated, the Jensen on the other hand didn't even realise there was a fork in it haha Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. Sorry to bother you all again but it will hopefully be the last time on this subject. I'm going to look at a 2014 gm 150 and a 2012 jensen a530 on Monday. Is there anything I should be on the look out for with either machine with regards to common faults or things that may have/will go wrong. I basically don't know what I'm looking at, obviously I'll be asking about servicing and bearing changes etc with each machine , I'm just wondering if there is anything else I should be aware of with either of them? Again, I'm sorry to pester and thanks in advance. George Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app

  23. Pretty much what I was thinking then, that's all I wanted to hear 😊 Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. This isn't a for sale post, more just testing the water so apologies if this isn't aloud. All being well my jobeau m500 will be up for sale in the next couple of weeks with the tipping trailer as pictured. I'm unsure as to how much to ask for though as they rarely come up for sale. It's an 06 machine with 382hrs. Honest opinions now, how much would it be worth? Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
