  1. It's OK if you put tin foil on your heads chaps. Well that's what I'm doing.
  2. The program might have a good bit of editing etc. but the situation is real. Some of us just live a bit closer to it than others to witness it first hand.
  3. No it's REAL.
  4. Grim. It's only going to get worse. IMO.

    Hi there

Greetings. Sounds very interesting. I have started the renovation in the woodland I am charged with. not on the same scale as yourself only about 10 acres but please share some pictures of your progress.
  6. sometimes it's best not clicking on links.
  7. :congrats: That is a belter.
  8. Like my 211 and prefer it to my husky 240. dealer location and parts availability should be in your considerations too if it were me. Prices are increasing soon so good time to buy. Have used most of the site sponsors on here with very good results.
  9. That looks like a nice neat job as well. I take it you have the recipe books out for rabbit dishes.
  10. Never witnessed it on sycamore so i'm going to keep my eye out for it for research purposes (obviously!!!) Might take all day tomorrow!!!. I've pruned bits off the other plants mentioned with most of the plants being quite young. Also seen a few plants at nurseries with this. That's quite a specimen as most I have come across look like just two stems fused together. definitely worth keeping.
  11. Had a go myself this year (well last year now)sold around 50 of them for charity. Here's a few of them wish I had numbered them and photod each one. Some were better than others. Burning them is just wrong!!!

    Lifting Tongs

I opt for the bigger ones on most of the work I do now. The smaller ones which I got with the Husky belt are handy for the thinner stuff. As stated they are that bit closer to the ground so less bending so for a wee chap they are very handy. They are a lot stronger in construction as well so feel a more sturdy tool to use.
  13. :thumbup:Got another 3 there so we are defo over the 7K mark:laola:
  14. They don't loop too well on my phone. Need to put it in for a tune up. So a nice 25 mile round trip indeed.
  15. Got my eye on a Hayter R53A smaller 55L grassbag though. The mountfield has a very respectable spec especially aluminium body and honda engine. Got a few hayters but have used a small masport for the last couple of seasons which is alot lighter.
  16. The futures bright the futures orange. Used to wear yellow but don't now. Slave to fashion. Insect thing was also a factor in the change. Not a fan of mixing them though, looks a bit haphazard IMO. So orange gloves, eardefenders, helmet, pants that sort of thing.
  17. Check the condition of the roots. You might have to snip any wires holding the tree in the pot. For the species I would recommend replacing the soil every couple of years and do any root pruning necessary. This would be done in early spring and you keep the soil warm before transplanting and keep the pot warm after to help stimulate roots. I wouldn't like my toes dipped in cold soil!! For the top pruning I would do that mid winter, so this could be done in the next week or so. The sap of ficus can bleed very easily so don't go daft. Any large cuts seal them with a hot knife. Keep any eye on the wires if you have them as they can cut into the bark quite quickly. For styles it's up to you but if you are entering competitions things are a bit more strict.
  18. Certain species lend themselves to certain styles of bonsai. I would think you could grow most trees in pots, some will need a lot more care than others which would determine if this was a viable option or not. Have you got any species in mind?
  19. Just look at all your air filters in your gear cos that's what your lungs are dealing with. I try and switch jobs throughout the working day and week and seems to reduce these symptoms. Not a choice for everyone I know but works for me. Tropical hardwoods are just a no no these days for me. A good walk of a saturday and sunday morning along the beach has helped as well. Lot's of fresh sea air.
  20. Collect a mushroom and become Super!!!!!. Everything else sounds good too. Don't think it will be good on the Kinnect or Wii. Might get some funny looks especially dragging brash around the living room. Climbing would be hilarious to watch but you might get sued.
  21. Just downloaded cheers. Looks interesting.
  22. Pair of 3D glasses and you won't need drink anyway!!!
  23. Just checked back to this thread to see what the outcome was. Third place!!cheers Tony. Well done Dan, great composition. I'm sure you could make a few calendars up with the entries and give the old Countryfile Competition a run for their money. Not had much of a winter here so far so I do hope there is a Spring Photo thread in the pipeline. We have some great and varied landscapes on these Isles and a lot of us are very lucky to work in them. Loved Maximalist's photo's from Russia.
  24. Ray Iles 8 1/2" Mike Abbot Pattern Drawknife. Merry Christmas to me!!!
