  2. You are assuming that once independence happens that the SNP (and Salmond) will be voted in as the governing party. IF independence happens there will an election to decide who governs Scotland. The 4 party system in Scotland might not happen. If all those mp's who vote no decide that the grass is greener in England and want to further there careers( cos it is clearly not about principles anymore for many). In an Independent Scotland we could have new parties with the Scottish people at the centre. You could have an OAP party, a youth party, Disabled party, Business owners party, Workers party, as well as your green party which could then get a larger voice. These parties could then work together to create a fairer, forward looking country. We won't need the stale LAB CON LIB SNP parties. No House of Lords. That should be enough reason to go independent in itself.
  3. Good post Dave. I have seen Dave's hand in person and that is enough to stop me from getting one of these discs. As Simon has stated work positioning when carving can put you in more danger than we would wish for. If I could hold my angle grinder with my knob I think I would have a much more interesting career.
  4. Nah. I hope my English cousins will get on just fine:thumbup1:. The anti Salmond and anti SNP BS just highlights some of the negativity of the No campaign. Salmond's not anti English he just doesn't like the westminster establishment. I agree with him.
  5. I have found the thermal anti fog cover a good choice for drying the small amount of logs after the bedding plant season that I have to produce. Having the doors changed from the polythene to green netting allows the air to flow through and removes some of the moisture from the tunnel. Reduced sweating so to speak. Well it works for me.
  6. Got mine from first tunnels a few years ago. pleasure to deal with. They do custom stuff as well.

    Question time!

We'll all be using bitcoins or there evolutionary offspring in a few years anyway. the currency issue won't be relevant. It's just the westminster establishment trying to hold on to more power. They don't care about our futures.

    Question time!

I get to vote on the matter and I am voting yes. Even if they say that it will open the gates of hell and we are all damned. I will still vote yes. Don't have any grudge or problem with any chaps north or south of the border. I have been given the opportunity to vote on the matter. I am voting with my heart. If Scotland get the yes vote, The Catalan's will follow and there will be many more Independent states throughout Europe. the more local you are to your government I feel the better. Patrick Harvie of the Green party in Scotland makes alot of good points on the currency situation IMO.
  11. have a look at the precision grinder from chainsawbars
  12. Mine is now in the bin. An expensive error. Inferior product for the Pro in my opinion. Has a horrible looking chain which didn't last long. Buy a couple of new chain loops and use the old ones for any rough work instead.
  13. Sold it, well done. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsawbars/68487-samurai-legend-comp-extreme-9-r6-carving-bar-stihl-ms150.html#post1055093 Did mine today. Selling sounds good!!!
  14. You must have been biting your tongue when he mentioned creosote. Luvvly wee dug!
  15. OK here is my review of the Samurai Legend comp extreme - 9" R6 carving bar for Stihl MS150 below is my opinion of this product. I am not a professional chainsaw carver but would class myself as someone who works with chainsaws as part of my job and have created a good selection of carvings which I sell at our annual fete and also produce installations for the estate grounds. Before I start I have to mention Rob at Chainsawbars.com. I have bought a selection of the products that are sold at CHAINSAWBARS.COM over the last few years from 36"chainsaw mill and accessories to various bars and numerous chains. The service has always been very good and the quality of the products has been top class. He only stocks good products, again my opinion. I decided to have a go with this new bar and chain on my lunch break today. I thought I would take it easy to familiarise myself with it and not push it due to the recommendation from Rob. With the MS150 this bar is a great match. Instantly felt good holding it and the first few light sweeps brought a smile to a very cold Gnome today.(and on a Monday) I used a MS211 with a standard 14" bar for the blocking out as I completely agree with Rob that the sumurai bar just wouldn't last. Due to this speed carve I obviously blocked out a bit too deep in some places, a technique which I think is becoming my trademark signature:blushing:. The samurai was great for smoothing some of these imperfections off. Something I would use an angle grinder and flap disc for usually, but I could get right into the corners due to the insanely small radius of the bar. This I could see is also a benefit to users who are in competitions where chainsaws are the only tool to be used such as CarveCarrbridge. I could have spent longer getting more detail, which I might still do, but was very happy with my effort. I can see the potential for some really detailed work and some nice textures. I would say that it was like the difference you feel from first going from a normal bar to a quarter tip bar. So for my setup now I have the following: Husky 372xp for blocking out bigger stuff Stihl MS211 for blocking smaller stuff Husky 240 with quarter tip bar Still MS150 with samurai bar Hope you like the pics of my new Wooden Saw
  16. Full review on Robs thread in a couple of days!!!
  17. Great. That's given me the idea I need for trying out my new samurai carving bar. Paint it orange first!!! Don't want it going blue and mouldy and turning into a makita.
  18. I've got a 36" bar for my 372xp for milling. It has worked well and has milled a few trees. I take it easy mind. I'm not doing that commercially, basically on a very occasional use. There will be folks on here that will jump up and down at me for doing this as on previous threads on the matter. I have now invested in a couple of ripping chains to put on my 24" bar. mainly due to the size of the logs rather than not using the bigger bar cos I'm not supposed to. lol. So from my experience I would say the saw is up to it especially on a 24" bar. You will loose a few inches when you attach the mill. I will leave that to others to discuss. I'm bracing myself......

  20. I've got the major pro. Nice bit of kit. as long as you don't push them to the limits. A couple of jobs and your one will pay for itself. Lucky find.
  21. Bar arrived today Rob. Really impressed with the small radius. Not had a chance to have a go yet but it sits nice on the 150. Hopefully i'll get some time tomorrow to potter about with it.
  22. Just typical of the society we live in today!!! Oh if only Diana was still here.
  23. Got Scotland at 8/1 so fingers crossed.
  24. You need to expand North of the Border Best wishes on the new premises. Always great to deal with.
