  2. 1. no, but disease and war will sort it 2. mother nature will take care of it, by any means necessary. 3. we all do our best. 4. not really, evolution is still in progress.
  3. i might watch....but then i might not. its prob nothing new, we all know about the state of world, Monsanto, the pill, tax, anti-depressants, free energy, magnetic fields......the list goes on and on.......
  4. i'm just up one...
  5. Hope you have taken all the photo's - make sure from every angle, and position - including damage. Write down everything, dates, times. etc. any communications with the owner.
  6. i bet a decent set of loppers could do most of the work... as above....running saw on the ground....little wave about now and again:thumbup:
  7. fellow arbtalker?....Armageddon houses: Brit 'preppers' are stockpiling food and weapons in preparation for the end of the world | Mail Online
  8. always been a boy scout....no worries here
  9. Thought i'd give this thread a bump. I was searching for drop tests. Second video is great, VT TESTED FAILED!!
  10. I tested this knot flatout yesterday, tried everything, it never jams and is completely free flowing, the lower part keeps its squareness and helps the ascent, only issue is you sometimes have to lock it off, but it still locks at a shock. Best knot i've used.
  11. those wheels will be gathering dust, on a bedroom wall perhaps. pcd and hubs look tight. they should have gone for the disc brakes, while they were at it....shows their age and mentality. one caliper alone is £500 at a guess.
  12. Tested my 'cocktail' knot today, it does not jam, even with after impact drops, holds fast everytime, sometimes needs a push when ascending to lock off, best knot I have ever used with 8mm viper on 13mm yale.
  13. its always the same, tree's are all different, some are far more difficult to climb than others, but once you have climbed the same one once or twice, its much easier.
  14. i'm thinking of calling it 'a cocktail' done one with braids too.
  15. has anyone tried my one? I find it better than most, and it sits perfect. Still not sure if its been done before.
  16. can you try this knot and see if it works for you. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/arborist-knots/50683-new-friction-hitch.html
  17. I tied the michoacan (not the same), mines different and sits sweeter.
  18. have you got a link?
  19. The knot looks similar to 'gripping sailors hitch' i have searched over 30 friction hitches but cannot find this one. Hope someone can shed some light on it.
  20. i've had all the toys, want to stick to rope so its always there and not an issue with mechanical failure. I think that one day the right knot/s and the correct matching of prussic diameter and type to line is going to be the answer.
  21. i'd buy some old ones if there is any being offered.
  22. I have used a Makita dcs3410th for 2yrs, its got a load of grunt, nicely weighted and smaller than the echo. Well worth a look.

    Nest???

    nice place to hang out:lol:
  24. v.t., knut and distal - variations.....invented a new one today...under wraps until fully tested:thumbup:
  25. I am doing some testing on 8mm/10mm prussics of different lengths and knots, to see if the wet binding can be sorted.
