  10. i am loving the rechargeble tool market. bought a 14.4v bocsh hedge cutter 2 weeks ago, they are great, not brutal, so you don't mess things up, just nice and sweet. would love a saw like that for the odd nip here and there, quicker than a silky:thumbup:
  11. try golf clubs volunteering gardeners, worth a start to earn to get your tickets
  12. great, is that painted on or dipped in? the coloured stuff is what i'm after, the pics of it make it look rough. is it easy to work with?
  13. I used to, small fortune. not tree business - too much bank costs. I would not bother these days, cash or cheque? cash please:thumbup:
  14. I have done a bit research. A good response was 'it's a statement of fact' as long as its true:sneaky2: what were you looking to do?
  15. Climbing, equipment and experience can come in any form. Not restricting yourself to just trees, and learning other skills can give you a better understanding. The act of tree climbing is not cast in stone, and you'll get more from practice than wondering about it.
  16. also boys have a good think about engineering, domolition, pulleys, levers etc its a good way to understand the moving and lowering of stuff. better to know than the species, as most do:laugh1:
  17. there are good and bad points. best use and work it out for yourself. there are more pulley blocks out there that are smaller, better and cheaper.
  18. great post, best i've heard for ages.
  19. why not just mix 20%/80% diesel mix, increase the ratio a bit over time. that means your diesel price is lower, could be 40p a litre before you know it.
  20. go for it, and suss all the climbing things, best to do your cs32 and 40/41 too, once you have got your tickets and a bit of experience your wages will be good.
  21. i always give a smart car a wide berth, they are the worst possible.
  22. it mainly depends on your ambition, if you want the 'tree' thing and know your stuff than thats that. but if you want to crack on, climb, graft, learn, become self-employed etc. you could just do you tickets and go for it. grab some books along the way and do whats right.
  23. nothing new there:lol:
  24. I want to see some pics of 'dip-it whip-it' before I buy some. If anyone can help that would be great. The only ones I can find are not very good quality.
  25. the council want to cover their backs...... curtain twitchers are the worst of the lot, i sometimes put a big board on the the tree in question, and note the this tree is to felled. sometimes it works and the council don't a ringy ding ding from mr.angry:laugh1:
