  1. Get well soon! you were very lucky, 40ft is a killer as is 15ft, you must have taken a bit on the way down. they do say, if you can land on your feet and try protect your head and torso, you'll survive, so you did well:biggrin: I work for myself, so I never rush the setup, regardless of pressures.
  2. it must be a load of bollards then....wonder when we'll hear about the fallout.
  3. i keep a load of tarps, different sizes. i cover when it rains or snows, rest of the time uncovered. when split, the store is west facing.
  4. very good points on there. i wonder if we can offer the same, i could do with a cash injection:thumbup:
  5. Ethical Forestry seems to good to be true...
  6. my harvesting water scheme does make my scratch my head, you can fill a 45 liter bin in 30mins from a roof drainpipe. my bin, the water is clear and good for most jobs, i do understand to bird poo on the slates factor and acid rain....but is it really all that bad?
  7. what about the water men? they knew everything, from leaving trees, the wildlife, steering or opening certain flows with one goal in mind. even the lock keepers have been given the push.
  8. check these completed listings, all of stihl stuff... andrew.red | eBay UK
  9. I had a water meter fitted 1yr ago. Since then I halfed my bill! I store water for the odd outside use, not use my hosepipe since. gas, electric and water are ripoff industries and give false information, I recently challanged swalec on mis-information in their printouts:sneaky2:
  10. did anyone watch panorama tonight? shocking..
  11. great pics, thanks.
  12. Once upon a time, The water board had some very good men, they were the 'water men' thier job was to make sure brooks, gulleys and ditches were free flowing to fill reservoirs. Then along came a bunch of accountants, and privatised another concern, while they number crunched - they asked the question 'what do these water men do?' and decided they could go, along with all their knowledge. So while watching another news bulletin about flooding and 'a months worth of rain' - look a what other businesses the accountants and managers are taking to the cleaners. I'm doing my bit to stop this tide of vultures and sharks taking away all that is good....I hope you are doing the same.
  13. is the microcender the new way forward? i do prefer rope prussics due to costs, plus the pulley system to aid limb walking, as my lanyard is 7.5m.
  14. just get the basic isc. it does the lot.
  15. looks like alot of friction on there, is it a struggle with all those wraps?
  16. I wonder if james is reading this thread:blushing: I applied 3 times, with nothing back:sneaky2:
  17. that sounds perfect, hows a 650mm eye2eye? pic would be good
  18. its great! i'm not off grid, but i got the benefit of the best solar gain and 3 street lights!
  19. sounds a bit one sided. I drive round in beat up old c15, and it doesnt depreciate. I do have a giggle with my nipper when we spot a Q7 or an X5 dropping in price like a lead balloon, while the owner smiles with pride, and looks down on us. We all have views, and some work hard to achieve whats good for family values - thats where my heart is.
  20. nice shape and finish. I am not sure if birch is the best for spoons, I could be wrong, I made a spalted one about 2yrs ago, it added an odd taste to food when used.
  21. i always think underfloor heating?? is because you want warm feet or no radiators? I ran some pipes close to surface on walkways in mine, ie bathroom, so i got underfloor heating by accident:lol:
  22. true, the spec on the post is standard, looking for smaller diameter setups, using pulleys/hitchclimber/pintos'/ and friction hitches.
  23. config's are the knowledge i'm after. as some cord is good with some, but does'nt work well on others. would be good to have a knowledge base on it.
  24. 8mm viper is great on most ropes, and it can take a battering. Its more forgiving than OP, and handles the friction well.
  25. Thats one answer I was looking for, 10mm OP works on it, 8mm is not so clever. I always prefer a pulley/friction hitch system on my kit.
