  1. I think the op is talking about equipment and fear, so trees arn't the only answer. Push your limits in a safety zone, when you then climb it will be easier.
  2. As a kid thats ok, But if you go to a Go-Ape centre, you get free training on how the kit works, have a load of safety in place, use pulleys and via-ferreta stuff to understand what you can/can't do.
  3. go on one of those go-ape courses, and use the hardest course. some are very high and tricky, gives you confidence in the kit, balance and problem solving. next would some high abseils - again an adrenaline rush and kit understanding. Then climb a tree, with the right kit! it will feel like a kids playground:lol:
  4. i have done a few, horse boxes a standard trailers. cheapest option is scaffold planks. a good trick is use hardwood planks, spaced on the frame then ply on top.
  5. ask the bar tender:lol:

  14. on ebay, only buy new/used kliens or bashlins. don't buy the new unbranded rubbish. avg is £65, some hit £120ish
  15. it's a right lump, and it would float need a couple of reddies for it, and it would need a hi-ab to shift in one piece.

  20. going back to tree surgeon/climber argument. I started training and thinking as 'an arborist' - but now just want to do dismantles so 'a climber' label suits me fine:lol: I am happy to dismantle as i've spent 20 odd yrs doing demolition.
  21. BLIMEY! he was using a rope system.....last time he was just one handed:laugh1:
  22. re the thread title: its full of pot holes, traffic lights, bad drivers, spot of road rage and the odd breakdown.
  23. Is it an age thing? I started late 38yrs, 4yrs on, i'm rapid and know the lot, only injuries are a part-dislocated thumb (keeps locking out, have to pop it back, every morning)
