  1. I was in art college 20yrs ago, designed a few tats for others. For the last 5yrs i've been researching the whys and wherefores. in 10yrs i'll be writing a book, at the moment I think the new styling of the old 2d tattoo's look great, and will stand the test of time. Me i'm ink free and always will be:biggrin:
  2. a C15 is a 1.9 diesel, it has a lightweight body, massive boot, and the highest ground clearance of any van. (why do all french farmers have one?) loves a bit of off road, check out youtube videos.
  3. good 3d on the saw, not to bad fine art finish for the saw too. not sure about your blacked out body/tree. be a bit worried about a career change, at least the memories are there.
  4. TV - I have 5 friends in the game (directors/producers/writers), could give it a punt for you.

    Blower advise

I had a good think about this recently after using a £19.99 240v 'el cheapo' one. I have used stihl and husky - found them a pain to start, to cumbersom and break easily. While using the 'el cheapo' it made sense that the only time it matters to get the area clear, is when you are outside a customers property, so plug in and off you go. The electric one was twice as powerful as a petrol one, and a third of the size.
  7. nice to have a short set for fruit trees etc. then just work from your lanyard, always tie off my ladders to the tree.
  8. there was a thread about a lad, whose brother borrowed his car, in the boot was a chainsaw, silkys and other bits. Police pulled the driver, looked in the boot and siezed the lot. I think its just best practice to keep it covered, bag it or lock it up - my worry for silky fox is if some nutter took a fancy to it.
  9. silky, are you always on your bike? I reckon you were lucky not to get pulled having a chainsaw on the rack, keep it covered is a best bet. or have you got a truck? I know the best bargains and excellent mpg.
  10. what about the C15? we know they go anywhere, and do 65mph:thumbup:
  11. thanks for that, did search the threads - but nothing came up:confused1:
  12. cool, keep thread posted.
  13. 2 miles are the cheap ones. for 4 miles you'll an fm licence etc. plus those are expensive. had a few motorola xtn 446 - they are good quality and light, cheap enough secondhand.
  14. no info then>?
  15. Just spotted this for those early sunday morning starts.. has anyone used or bought one? MSA 160 C-BQ - Innovative new cordless chain saw
  16. don't think they would do it, plastics get brittle in the cold.
  17. learn some sales tricks, and be firm - give your price and.....one thing that works but it takes guts, is to say 'i'm happy for you to get other prices' - it's a sales trick to push the customer into a 'i'm not skint' mode
  18. ivy, wisteria or anything similar, double your price, as its double the work.
  19. small hands....more money:thumbup:
  20. nieghbours want privacy, as long as the tree is on someone elses property. find out what root cause for the objection is.
  21. mine is something like this: a: £75 for a 8" diameter, put your hands together like in the pic. b: £150 for 12" diameter - open your hands to the size of a small plate. c: £400 for 18" diameter - hands are a bit further apart now. Count the stems and limbs, and multiply by the above. If its come out at a big figure, think about what you can do the job for. I works well for me on all jobs, a little discretion is advisable
  22. i do, very much so, it is amazing and you'll never look back.
  23. try not to make the same mistake twice. Don't fall into the 'i want the job, i want the job' trap, by nodding to everything. when you first agreed the job, be totally specific to trees you are working on, and point at the trees you are not doing work on, make sure you both understand each other, if not and your customer is being vague, write it down and both sign it - before work starts!
  24. i do indeed, if you want the magic solution its as simple as abc:biggrin:
