  3. are you just talking about the cutout bar? it would be doddle to knock one of them up.
  4. i prefer not to on rigging lines. as it makes life easier sometimes on snatch blocks that would take more time to open than slip the end in:lol:

  6. I use mine because its light, handy, reliable and easy to start. Plus mines a makita, which has the on/off switch positioned so you shut off the engine while both hands are on the saw. Its not an everyday thing, just when its warranted.

  9. yes its covered in grippy polyester, its only used as a fixed prussic or temp cambium saver, stays on my lanyard. it is great stuff for the right application, i did splice my pinto with it too.
  10. mines a Liros Magic-Pro 8mm dyneema, with 6mm stainless rings.
  11. I read it the same: Top-handled chainsaws are only suitable for use off the ground. Rear-handled saws must be used when working on the ground. It's not a point of law in this statement, so I doubt it would hold up in court.
  12. Yep its a tibloc. but if you had a secret weapon, you are looking after your rope, and its got multiple uses.
  13. got my cs38/39 I use my top handle everyday, in the tree or on the ground. Even on my course, the tutor promoted me to use it on the ground to get used too the handling. Aren't we the trained people better to understand our tools, than not? It's mine, and i'll use it how I like, let that not be said for others without training or understanding.

  18. bit of study of both threads and vidz. I just tried it on my lanyard with my mini secret weapon, single pulley and prussic, works great. I prefer minimal kit when climbing.

  24. just spotted this thread. Soft shell jackets are great, esp. ice climbing ones, I have a vaude one, they are quality, if you have to ask you cannot afford:laugh1: Not hi-viz, but there are some out there.
