  2. Mine are from wilkinsons, gardening gloves only £6, they are the same as some £20 ones. They do last a couple of months. Also got a pair of mechanics hexarmors.
  3. my friends sister is stuck in childs fisher price car.....lets make it viral! HSE would not be amused
  4. you can just do a normal splice and give it a good whipping. i have many times, no issues.
  5. Dewalt gloves reviewed, very poor quality...any thoughts? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9N25fa2Q3G4]DeWalt gloves review - YouTube[/ame]
  6. its all designed to peel the 20's out yer wallet. they all do the same thing.....don't get dragged down with the rest of them. a pc/laptop is just that, a phone is a phone.....look around you....do you really want to have your head looking down into a screen day or night? walking down the street? or anywhere? they are all zombies
  7. yep, we should invent 500 new ways
  8. try and wind down the hard work, and employ a few people.
  9. buy the shortest most ton you can, 30ton ones turn up.
  10. do it, its spot on, you will need to double check your friction setup in use etc. the best thing is the lightness of the rope compared to others out there. yep 60m is handy, but once you have made your lanyard once or twice in time, you'll be happy for years to come, and when you are at the last 6m you'll be wondering what to do....
  11. just clocked a few of his tricks, simple stooges, static electricity and magnets. magic is everywhere
  12. i'm not sure whether or not this is of interest.....Caustic soda is known to completely breakdown aluminum if left to soak, don't know if its an issue.

    Dog Pooh

thats what i mean, there no need to bag it, only pick it up and sling it. some bags have a short uv life span.

the point i think is that it degrades fast, the hedge hangers are misses from the aimed spot. if a lump of poo is left for 24/48hrs the slugs will eat the lot, so people are better off slinging just the poo into the hedge, and putting the dirty bag in clean bag and in the next bin. slugs are gods weapon!

2 things you can do. side step the poo on the job, or just clear the 1 or 2 in the way. the other is when you go and price and the place is covered, double your price and walk away, you don't need every job and washing the dog/cat poo off your ropes will make you cry.
  16. dadio, the cut you did was called, like anything in the UK 'billy basic' We all know and used the same cut, so showing off is not sensible as the correct method is the method. and as your video shows, your anticipation of the result was a fair degree of panic judging by your side steps. the tree could still have...split, rotated or barbered at any point as you tentatively tried to cut, you could have letterboxed and rotated without any tools and kept safe, that failed....try again, and then do the side step overeach panic option:lol:
  17. Leaky roof? if thats your problem you could create a bead drip, just use a silicone gun and put a thin bead where ever you need to redirect the water. expanding foam is ok for stopping wind and maybe water, but wont stop ingress, if you are to use just gauge the right amount and don't be over zealous or you may have lifts in places that cause more issues.
  18. nice one scotspine....i'm here all week
  19. i did that once (not the window) but the tow eye coming out, we where in a town centre, it was the luckiest day of our lives! it went about 40ft and worked free of the tow rope. they are counter clockwise:blushing:
  20. found this to show the basic technique. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGxY0tbUff4]Tirfor winch takedown of a hung up tree - CS32 chainsaw course - YouTube[/ame]
  21. sorry boss, missed that one:blushing:
  22. on the video (imo) its seems that everything is done 100% chance element, saw, body position and over-reach is all very much a high risk/death factor. so this industry is about control....right? if you don't agree and its an adrenaline sport....fair game. But if want to use 100% control and 100% safety, then these techniques should not be attempted. you roll a hung up tree...Thats no.1 Priority, to rotate it away from the hung point. then do that again, if it fails to free use a winch to pull it back from the base. I have 'hung up' over 20 4>8ton trees on purpose, to use these techniques (i'm sure some have done more!) and this method is fail safe and you have complete control.
