Depends what sort I've seen nordmans that were cut mid november and still lovely and full at the end of jan as for norways you it seams you just need to look at them and they shed -

I recall being told at college 3-5 years depending on usage and obviously if it gets a bad knock. I think it states replacement in the vertex info that you get with, I always put the date of when I first use mine inside the helmet

Good on you for tackling it I know what it's like working for someone new I tend to lengthen my strop and sit back as much as possible and use a bigger bar if needs must to compensate for the extra distance, works for me but might not for others -
Can't be any worse than driving with a big chipper on the front? But have to agree go for a decent tractor

Hope your eye sorts itself out. I've noticed more need for safety glasses recently since I got a vertex vent ( old style ) with husky visor. Seem to get more bits hitting my face compared to my old husky lid
