1. What ever you do don't go too big! Running a WBS at slumber all the time ain't good for the stove, flue or environment. If you can go for external air supply so much the better, no annoying draft!

A/t tyre

I have the General Grabbet AT (don't think they do the AT2 anymore) on my Hilux. Very happy with them and find them a good compromise between on road, off road and road noice. They're great in the rain too. TBH don't think you will go wrong with either the BFG or GG AT tyres.
3. What sort of arrogance? There is nothing arrogant about what I said! The country got in a muddle through failure of the last labour government to save for a rainy day not arrogance! And they were a 'centre-left' government. Consequently just in-case you forgot 'I'm afraid there is no money'. What effect would Corbyn's extreme left manifesto have on the economy..Go figure! (IMHO cos I aint that arrogant as to profess otherwise!) Corbyn, MacDonnell (the gullible sheep who vote for him) and their lefty un-costed policies would bring about the bankruptcy of the country. This 'them and us' poor vs rich socialist bullshit is becoming tedious. But I do agree with one thing Eggs...Option B...I don't really know either.
4. Yep agreed, the Clearviews are pricey, also supposedly not a nice company to deal with! You can pick them up at a fair discount if you shop around (Exeter Stove & Chimneys are keen). Can you actually damp the burn down on a Burley, have always found them difficult to control (DEFRA Clean Air Act issue no doubt!!) Craig
5. Hi Wood, as a 'Devon Boy' I would love to be able to say that the Woodwarm stoves are comparable, however IMHO the Clearview has the edge both in quality and performance. I have noticed that the finish on the WW stoves is not as good as it once was, castings not finished well, brass handles not buffed properly. Don't get me wrong, I think they are good stoves, but for me, Clearview is the benchmark that all others are measured against.
6. Spot on! We burnt all sorts of wood in our Clearview Vision 500 and even some of those honking lignite brown coal briquettes. We literally gave the glass a wipe over once a month with damp kitchen towel.
7. Clearview Pioneer 400 is a cracking s 5Kw stove. We have had Woodwarm, Hunter, Villager, Morso and Dunsley stoves over the years and IMHO nothing comes close to Clearview for quality and performance. The Vision 500 is probably the benchmark clean-burning stove but it may be a little big for your needs at 8Kw.
8. Ok so once again, what's the other option that's good for UK?
9. But that's hindsight not an option going forward. I fully agree in hindsight a foolish gamble, but who would have thought so many would buy in to the Corbyn lies and bullshit. But what's the options now?
10. Whats the options Eggs? IMHO if the remainers hadn't acted/voted in such a childish way, considered the referendum result, and had actually thought about the effect a hung parliament would have at such a nationally crucial/critical time we wouldn't be in this mess! Surely anyone with half a brain did not vote labour thinking that the traitorous demagogue Corbyn would be the right person to lead this great nation at such a time?
11. Mate if you want something to do the job properly invest in a decent petrol brushcutter. A battery powered machine may be ok around a small garden lawn but anything like brambles, bracken or scrub will need a fair bit of oomph. Buy cheap....buy twice!
12. Not an issue, any problems from the Irish terrorists we'll just ask Je(i)zzer and Johnnie Commie to have a nice friendly chat with em!
13. Am I being cynical or is the whole national 'minutes silence' thing being devalued by political correctness?
14. Seconded! Still amazed how such deep bass can come out of such a small speaker!
15. Switched from original bump head to the Oregon jet-fit head and the Diamond Edge 4mm on your recommend and tbh its great! The line is better that the Oregon flexiblade line in as much that it doesn't snap so often and does the job just as well. Anything that requires more oomph gets the mulching blade!
16. Yep absolutely agree with your comments mate, TBH i wasn't that bothered if foliage underneath was affected too much. I tine harrowed it out and over-sowed in the early spring. I'll be interested to see yow may bracken fronds stick their heads up over the next month or so. Plan is to flail the field tight in August and then lime it. We are getting their slowly but bracken is a bitch! This is what it looked like when i started trying to put it right, early in the year and before the bracken stuck its head up....
17. Before and after photos:
18. Nope normal strength, but I had really thick bracken. I sprayed in late August and the following year there was little if an visible damage to the grass. Just need to get rid of the bluebells now. I'm hoping they will die off now that there is no shade for them.
19. I had good success with Roundup Nick (I would guess significantly cheaper) and because the bracken sits so high off the ground very little damage to grass. Boom-less sprayer works well and if the bracken is really high you can switch to the lance (most sprayers have one also).
20. Quad with boomless sprayer will do the job and god as slow as you can drive. If you are on slopey ground don't overfill the tank! Is Asulox available again?
21. Was this the sort of thing you are on about?
22. Eggs these robbing buggers rely on people not changing their tariffs, same with all the other utilities, insurance etc. The days of preferential rates for loyalty are long gone!
23. Axminster Power tools do one- http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-barrel-plug-cutters-ax831605?sel=950189
24. IMHO poor decision! When people step out of line punish the perpetrators not the whole. Generally this was a good thread with interesting input from all sides/camps, of course it got a bit heated at times...that's politics.
