  1. How do I spot the difference?
  2. Need to do some work on our processor as it's got a fair bit of rust developing. It was fine until last winter when I had a lot of jobs in the cold weather and towing it around on freshly gritted roads did it power of no good. Only metal paint I have used in the past is Hammerite but really not sure this is the best option plus it will look shabby unless I can get a colour match which seems unlikely. Would love to get it galvanised but imagine that would cost a bomb so what do you recommend
  3. Paid 44p per litre for only 500 litres from Watsons after a bit of haggling
  4. A winch on a splitter is the dogs danglies IMO. I use ours a lot for getting large rings onto the splitter table. Saves so much time not having to cut them down to liftable sized lumps.
  5. Lifting is likely to be your problem. We have a 55 hp compact and the Krpan 18 tonne splitter and it's right at the limit of our tractors lift. If we had the Posch equivalent don't think we would have got it off the ground. If the weight was close in it would be OK but the weight on these splitters is a fair distance out from the hitch attachment points. Suspect when it comes to running it you would be OK most of the time. I run ours with the PTO on eco and it only stalls on the gnarliest of lumps.
  6. Think this is area dependant. Some on here swear that bags is where it's at but delivered a load yesterday and they said they had chosen us as we delivered a loose load and not baged. Just do what your customers want.
  7. Yep finally got to keep it. Got to clear a patch of bracken and brambles in the field and it made mincemeat of it
  8. Ahh I had not picked up on you considering buy processed logs off me. Was just moaning about not being able to easily sell softwood to our customers. Not Looking to off load it in bulk. As you point out haulage kills that option anyway
  9. You have lost me here Have you been talking to mendi-plogs?
  10. Got logs dotted all over the place but here are some of the stores
  11. No not got a whole wagon load. It's mostly processed and now taking up valuable crate space.
  12. Easier to light without a doubt but I will take your word for it on the other two as I can't say I have noticed.
  13. Think Deutz, Same and Lamborghini are one and the same. When we bought our little compact we were asked how we wanted it badged and we had to go with Lamborghini to please the big kid in me. Had some spares and all labeled Deutz. If it's any help our compact has been superb
  14. Looks like a nice lump of rosewood Steve hope you can get collection sorted
  15. I can move the last of the chestnut to those that have not had the prime species off us but the softwood is proving a tough nut to crack. We burn some and have two customers who had some when we had nothing else but beyond that it's been a no go. I don't blame them to be fair. I don't reckon you get any more kWh per pound with soft at £70 and hard at £100 and it's taking up that much more space and needs loading into the fire more often
  16. Youe sure about that? Had some softwood that's been here 2+ years and can't budge it. Had complaints for some regulars with only small amounts of chestnut added to the load. "Dont bring me any of that yellow stuff again" was the phrase used. Sure if I kicked it out at £60 per cube it would move but would not be worth the hassle for that.
  17. Wish chestnut dried quicker and burnt better. Shame as it's cheap and bliss to process.
  18. They were and I had some allegedly. It was not ideal processor shape though and Euro tried adding a pile of chestnut to the load
  19. Na that's a sissy bolt I meen like these Turbo Coach Screws Yellow Zinc-Plated 10 x 160mm Pk50 | Turbo Coach Screws | Screwfix.com Whacked in a fair few of these over the years but they do make my little Dewalt impact driver grunt.
  20. Yes 4ah on 18V is loads of power and runtime for anything other than putting in lag bolts all day. Think 2ah is enough for most odd jobs. It's not as if changing a battery is a big deal.
  21. Contemplating this myself. If I keep the Farmi it wants a bit of touching up here and there or trade in and lose a pile of cash. Suspect the depreciation on your Posch is pretty low though.
  22. Yes a bit costly. But you get a perfect 1.15 m3 log store and two lids. Can get them for £20 each delivered in this neck of the woods. They might look a bit scruffy on your site though. They make mine look better
  23. An old lorry curtain side. Whatever it is it needs to be tough because there is some load when they get a flap on. Shredded some 10mm poly prop rope holding it down but as I said it can get quite blowy up here.
  24. I have put 16 crates together 4x2x2 they were more or less touching with a tarp over the top on a frame. They dried almost as well as the individual crates with lids. Yours being round will give more air gaps and circulation so I think you would pleasantly surprised how well they will dry when bunched close-ish together.
  25. Alternatively bunch them up and make a simple frame up and sling a big tarp over the top. I tried this but it's windy site and have had it blow loose several times.
