  1. I worked on a site near Keswick that were extracting typical size xmas trees by helicopter in nets in 1995.
  2. IMO unit 41 is far more beneficial and i would do this one first. Like you dilz, i just took the assessment for 40. You do however need unit 40 before you can take unit UA2.3
  3. must have earnt his boss a few bucks though.....that must be a fair amount of climbing to do that.
  4. You gotta check that chain on return jon. The very nature of using a large saw like that is often you are cutting in and around the butt on old trees where people have banged in nails and fencing over the years. Good luck jon.
  5. The old VW at Castlemorton, hope you weren't the one with the deep cut on the foot...that was messy for me, and I was quite battle hardened by then:001_smile: Nice derail... great party's, great times:001_smile:
  6. How about 'Chalara fraxinea', very current and knowledge could put you in good stead for future?
  7. With a tipping degrees like that, dont reckon you'll be needing the fork to get last few bits out lol
  8. By the way I was first aid trained as a scuba instructor, but cut my teeth patching up loads of bad cuts etc on the free party scene in the early 90's with wasted falling over people. Quite a bit of it was quite messy and I got loads of complements for my patching skills from various A&E departments:001_smile: I was with Spiral Tribe and my old VW was the go to ambulance / ambiance:001_smile: You may well have have patched me up at some stage then albedo:thumbup:
  9. Beats feeding a mature blackthorn through a TW150, sned up feed, get stuck, reverse, sned some more, feed, get stuck, reverse, sned some more..........

    spikes

    Kleins are very good spikes.
  11. I would love one of these machines. A contractor i do work for has several of these and i think they are good little machines that can lift a suprising amount. As said, go for the biggest you can afford. If yu have the work for an avant, it won't take long to earn its money. They tow well on an ifor williams or similar trailer. I don't know where in the country you are based, but if you google 'Affordable Access' (they are in Romsey, Hants), they hire these out with various attachments.
  12. Some factual points there justme. Thanks baz, yes I am vat registered and knew that delivery charge was at 20%. Always good to point these things out though. You have however reminded me that stacking charges will be at 20% which I didn't think of before.
  13. sorry to hear about yer audi jon, nice motor that mate
  14. Somerley golf course just north of ringwood will take woodchip
  15. Cheers samarb and rovers90
  16. Heard the same from my local dealer:confused1:
  17. Be sure to have confidence in your rope and equipment and in the technique you use.
  18. As geoff says, dont rush in to anything, take time to mull things over
  19. Unless the access is bad, i would not have thought you should be using a pedestrian stump grinder all day on one site (unless stumps are tiny), rather something larger. Unless of course its a one off job and you only own a pedestrian
  20. If you can avoid extra overheads then do, but sometimes it can be the best way to solve a problem and if its interest free then you are paying the same as if buying it out right.
  21. That would be good tony, my knowledge of funghi is very limited, need to know more:thumbup:
  22. Am I correct in thinking that VAT is charged at 5% on the sale of logs?
  23. I think that timberwolf are offering interest free finance at the moment.
