  1. If the branch has that great of a chance of snapping, dont tie into it and just work off your main line.
  2. I like that wisewood, very good mate
  3. If you are still finding your feet and getting up to speed, i would say £80 s/e a day is fair. After 4 months or so when you are quicker i would have thought you could up that to about £100. Or go on piece rate mate.
  4. I have a great pair for work, i think theey are called Bolle
  5. Gotta agree 80 hrs for £1k not good for a doc jon
  6. I think most docs get payed quite handsomely jon.
  7. Good shout Katie putting this post up. Alot in our trade often get ticks. So having knowledge of what to look out for.
  8. Blakes does not need to be same diameter as you have found. Its often described as being used with same diameter rope cos its one of the better friction hitches for this.
  9. Affordable access in Romsey 01794 521177. Handy company to know if your in tree work.
  10. It is annoying to say the least when councils behave like this. The tree clearly has no long term future and as there are people and property at risk, i think it is completely irresponsible when they behave in this way, usually due to 1 person flexing the muscles of his position.
  11. Surely the LPA will assign updated tpo to this tree and plot it correctly gg? Or have i missed something.
  12. Can you not waive responsibility in your t & c's or wherever it should be said?
  13. This was supposed to quote Ty's post, not Andy's.
  14. If you have carried out the work (deadwooding) correctly then i would think that neither you, the restaurant or the land owner would be held liable should something happen to a clients car, as they have taken reasonable effort to prevent this from happening and may/could/should then be seen as an 'act of god'. Though i do not know how things works in France.
  15. The constant discussion here of one motor to do/cover all jobs. That truck with chip box and tipper would do it. Just need bigger roads, wider driveways and cheaper diesel.
  16. Good advice. Keep your money in your pocket whenever you can. Often these pieces of timber are not the gold mine the owners think they are. Have you seen the animated sketch on youtube 'highly valuable black walnut'? Worth a look. Sorry i cant put up a link, dont know how.
  17. I charge chipping at climbing rate. I dont mind a bit of chipping from time to time, depends what it is mind!!
  18. Yeah, i got one made from cotton i think. Got it from cycle shop and great for stopping draught and sawdust an does not get too hot.
  19. They are good tcd, great when camping:thumbup:
  20. Fair play to you deezy, having high aspirations and always looking to better, good on you:thumbup: Do however, take on board all the responses that you have had here. Good luck.
