  1. If they are jet washing them, just wax them up and sell them for £250 each :D
  2. I dont know the road or how busy it is. But if its a quiet back road as it looks, i would put some signs and cones out. 2 men/women half day, cut and chuck the lot. £300ish.
  3. If you get stuck, longleat will take woodchip, about 10 or so mins away. Don't know if they are open Saturday though.
  4. If you have the work for it, you can't go too far wrong.
  5. Only takes a couple of minutes to handball it out with a garden fork, used to do it all the time. Tidy job by the way. Make a few more bob with that motor now.
  6. I find it is only when they are full i have issues so When i get a new 20/25l can, i pour half of it into the old when. Both then pour well into combi can without spills.
  7. I'm sure i do get notified on the app. Im running a galaxy s5 i think. Maybe iphones dont notify.
  8. I use stumpbusters, a very pro outfit round here and can be trusted to do a good polite service for my customers.
  9. This depends very much on the dno, contractor and even surveyor. Depends on hv or lv too. Get them out to have a look, it wont cost you anything, so what have you to lose. Tell them you would like the trees down and they may do it as part of their maintenance or they will certainly cut them back enough so that you can then finish them safely with regards to the electric. I am pretty sure these works are exempt from a felling licence. Good luck.
  10. Are they the same saws with different label Swinny? I thought mitox had a decent enginw at least.
  11. You can get a top handle Mitox for £150 all in. Cant go too far wrong there for a back up saw.
  12. How far did the crane have to travel to get there? Nice job
  13. Get in there beforr the nesting birds do.
  14. Reg has alot further to haul them back up so more makes sense.
  15. I've always prefered 13mm for my blakes though i've not given 11 alot of time
  16. Usually just tie them back to climbers main line. May have 6 or so at a time, your choice really. I dont know if this is how reg does it.
  17. Had to guarantee all trees on deck and majority of brush chipped, most of the job then:001_huh: Love watching your zip lining, runs smoothly, you always make it look so simple. Great job Reg.
  18. Stihl have designed the loop llke that for years on the ms200t but never had this problem before.
  19. Haha Too true. If echo brought out a topper with heated handle i would get one for those cold days and believe me, i never thought i would say that (buying an echo that is).
  20. There are times in this job when you need to overcome your fear. In that sense it is not like a regular job. I know at times i've had the jitters. Shortly after i started climbing my boss gave me a beech to section, it was a big tree, approx 2' dbh and probably 90' tall but not very broad at all. I still remember looking down at the top of the church next door. I stripped it out in the morning leaving just the stem to chog down after lunch. But after lunch really did not want to go back up, i had a horrible feeling inside even though i had done the hard work. I like to think it was due to it being my last day before going off on travels around south east asia the following day, but the fact was i had the jitters. What i'm trying to say is often there are times in this game when you have to conquere your fear even though it is completely safe. And I think that some get this and label the tree unsafe to get out of it. After all, its easier for someone to say that than "sorry boss/forman, i dont want to climb this tree i'm tto scared to". Much like rock climbing, there are moments when its really scary but it is safe. So in a sense, yes it is about having the bottle at times to get on out there. This does not mean your playing the macho card or doing something unsafe, simply part of the job. The more you overcome your fear, the better climber you become and the easier it is next time.
  21. Nice Stephen. Chipper looks like it does not stick out front too much.
  22. Thanks A u-u, my thoughts too. It is naturally a weak area of the tree and with the live ganoderma bracket there also.
  23. The 2 images show each side of the trunk.
  24. Out of interest, what would others opinions reccomendations be for this tree, bearing in mind there are about 5 houses within falling distance and one in particular that the tree towers over. The union in the picture runs some 1.8 metres down the trunk.
