  1. Anyone know if there’s anywhere in Yorkshire that can make a tipper back for my 110 landrover?
  2. Ive just bought a new Marlow Aeris 11mm rope which seems really thin, maybe its just that im not used to the size. Does anyone climb using a simple blake hitch with this rope? Thanks
  3. Ive just bought an aeris rope , to be honest its alot thinner than im used to , i climb using a simple blakes hitch system and worried that it wont suit my style of climbing. Is it worth sending it back for a thicker rope? thanks in advance
  4. Ye i suppose, was getting giddy with the prospect of a truck that was a bit different, looks like its gunna be a Transit then. Thanks for all the replies
  5. haha, its in great nick. not sure its gunna be worth getting though if i cant legally drive it loaded up. :confused1:
  6. Thanks for the help. far as i know the Renault 50 is approx 2.5 tonne so i could load it with a tonne and not need an operators licence . obviously towing a chipper would increase the weight. im in two minds whether to get it really, seems a bit of a risk overloading it an getting pulled
  7. Ye i think its been declassified so you can drive it on a normal license, max gross weight is 3.5 tonne, far as i know i should be able to park it anywhere. thanks
  8. Hi everyone, this is my first post on here so be gentle. just as an intro ill write a bit about myself I've been in the tree game going on 9 years now and climbing for 4 years. I run a small business (just me and casual groundsmen) and climb as a subby twice a week. Having had a fair bit of luck with vehicles recently (LDV broke down on a monday and my beloved Land rover hicap 110 was stolen on the thursday), i was saving up to convert the Landy into a tipper, which brings me to my question. A truck has come up for sale( a 1991 Renault dodge 50) and im thinking of getting it with my insurance moneys, its got a new tipper back, power steering fitted with a Perkins 4 litre engine, the body is mint and it looks like a real beast. Does anyone have one or used one in the past in the Tree game? its either this or a typical battered Transit for the same money. Cheers Oly
