  1. I was saving that as a surprise
  2. Jonny, They don't have an hydraulic filter as such, they just have an internal mesh filter than you clean out and refit. If you go underneath look for a round (possibly oval) metal plate held in with 2 bolts, unscrew the bolts and remove the filter clean then refit. We've 2 of these on the farm good old buses. We've got the instruction manual somewhere, if I can find it I'll take a photo of the page and pm you it. Cheers Chris
  3. I'd agree at 2 standard builders bags in the back of a double cab pickup, king cab more obviously.. ours has 230k on and little trouble other than 2 front wheel bearings on an 06 plate.
  4. Says it's in Barbados in the description with buyer to arrange transport...
  5. Yes that was my other thought, down sides are they are pretty huge with space being a bit of an issue and also seem pretty complicated and I'd be worried about potential expensive breakdowns. Where as drum sander seems more compact and pretty simple mechanically wise. Although I also realise a wide belt sander would do the job far faster and also make much better job!!
  6. Has anyone tried one of the Axminster senior sanders 24" double drum sander, either that or jet single drum oscillating machine? I'm considering one or the other but just wanted opinions first.
  7. The box section on ours cracked off at the base, rewelded it a few times but in the end used the hydraulic valve ram etc and made our own out of a rsj and bucket wear edge for the wedge. As others have said they are pretty quick as the rams not too big, but obviously in knotty hardwood it does also mean it can stop or get stuck. Maybe we were just being over rough with ours but never touched relief valve.
  8. Where about's in the country are you?
  9. I've got one that can do up to 2ft, I'm in Wakefield. 2 minutes from services at Woolley Edge on m1. Thanks Chris
  10. We have a couple of older 2 wheel drive Ferguson 698t's they fine on the road, just bear in mind they obviously don't brake on the front wheels so if using a fairly big loaded trailer you need to make sure it has trailer breaking and that the trailer brakes are working OK. Other than that no different really, cheaper to run as they don't scrub the front tyres off the same, but they are only allowed to do 30kph.
  11. Im struggling to see how this works too .
  12. I've got a 1000 nets in a bale never touched if anyone's interested. 52 X 82 red in colour if that matters. Open to offers as no use to me, I'm in Wakefield West Yorkshire. Ideally needs to be collection only. Thanks Chris
  13. This is one picture. If you get in contact with Karen she has a few more.
  14. Just seen this on Woodnet. Felled Sycamore and Ash Sycamore and Ash timber, felled and stacked at trackside with decent access for a rigid lorry. Please email for photos. Felled January 2016. Sensible offers considered. Kerridge, Cheshire Advert Start Date: 11/4/16 Contact: Karen Smith M: 07738 399427 [email protected] Only at a guess around 10tons ish so not a full artic load so killed it for me. Just thought I'd see if it was any use to anyone else. Nice straight logs for someone!!
  15. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=201542371911&globalID=EBAY-GB I'm seriously tempted by this.. Infact wait I'm hitting buy it now before anyone else gets it!!!
  16. I'd also thought about using kitchen worktop jointers Morten but never have so couldn't comment on how effective they are. Obviously work brilliantly for jointing work tops, either buy the worktop router jig or ask a kitchen fitter/joiner to do the routing on the back of the board. I'd say one at each end and one in the middle should do the job.
  17. What's access like and do you have anyway to load it, or is it a case of man handling it on the trailer?

    eBay

I also hadnt realised until yesterday that they also kindly take 10% of the postage cost. Which means I've now to start and charge slightly more for postage. It all seems to be getting slightly on the greedy side!!

    eBay

Something new I learnt this morning, if you now end an item early, as info a deal out of eBay you still get charged the 10% selling fee at the highest bid, for example, I removed something bid at £310 and got charged £31. I'm pretty sure it hadn't been like that in the past! Robbing bar stewards.
  20. The latest facelift models aren't very good at all, they've got the diesel particulate filter in the exhaust which seems to choke them. ive got a 15 plate manual invincible 3.0 and mate has same but in auto box both chipped with a chip express chip set to max which is meant to produce 220ish bhp and they're still pretty dead. It's certainly better with it on its worst than useless without it, comes to a hill on motorway without chip at 75 - 80ish and it just dies. Same friend also has a 07 3.0 invincible before the filter in exhaust, again chipped that goes like a rocket!! Tow's a 2000gallon fuel bowser round most of summer for his farm contracting business, although I think it likes clutches.. Previous to this had a 13 plate navara auto which wasn't chipped but I'd say it was nippier than the new hilux and far more refined inside, hilux is still quite agricultural in my opinion.
  21. So just to update on this. I took your advise Bettina and contacted Stihl direct via the website about the problem I was experiencing, and even though it was 9 months out of warranty they took it in and replaced the carb foc. They openly admitted that a few of the earlier saw with mtronic had experienced issues!! So why no recall.. Anyway collected the saw today and yes it does appear to have cured the stopping once warm problem so all good really. Although it did take them 2 weeks, but can't really complain as it was out of warranty!! I'm not sure it has the same grunt that it had previously but it does keep running. I would suggest anyone else experiencing the same issues get onto Stihl and get the same fix. Thank you again Bettina without your advise I'd still be struggling along with it haha.
