  1. Thanks for that definitely gives me more enthusiasm to give it a try, and its a 3 cylinder model and most of the time starts better than some of the newer tractors! Thanks to all for replying will give you an update once tried. Cheers Chris
  2. Just had a quick look apparently a 135 lifts around 1200kg and the hakki weighs around 600kg so I imagine the 35 lifting slightly less but hopefully should still do it. Will definitely give it a go. Like you say Jon, the 35 will use nothing in diesel and also give it a job to do rather than just sat around doesn't do them any good. Thanks for the advise.
  3. Our 35 has a loader on so should act as a decent counter balance or if that fails hang a bag of wood on it or a big log. I'll have a look on google see what difference is between a 165 135 and 35 thanks both, it's at least worth a try when I can actually get to the thing. Currently run the 698 with the 1000 pto shaft in so only running at around 8 or 900 rpm saves a bit on juice but seems to be getting a tad chocked needs a good working on farm when weather picks up!
  4. As per title really, has/does anyone use a mf 35 on a 1x37? Currently using it on a 698t fergy but abit over kill really, thought about putting it on the 35 but wondering if it will pick it up mainly as it would have to be moved every night. Could just try it but the 35's buried at the back of the shed at the moment. Behind all the split wood Cheers Chris
  5. As daft as it sounds look on ebay, I bought some for our Massey tractor on the farm paid £200 for 750kg of genuine weights and ended up getting them put on a pallet and collected for and delivered for £50. Pallet transport isnt overly expensive anymore.
  6. Shame your not nearer to me I'd have taken the lot, but haulage would kill it for me. Cheers Chris
  7. Hi again Tom, Not sure if you found somewhere to take the chip/logs, but just wanted to make sure you got my PM? Let me know either way. Cheers Chris
  8. Not sure what sort of money they are wanting but an 8 month old Carry 25 on Davies Implements. Large selection of used agricultural machinery, tractors, woodchippers and more Thanks Chris
  9. The Japa 700 is back on again tonight.
  10. Not sure on your budget but this is on ebay now. Hakki Pilke 1x37 Firewood Processor | eBay Chris
  11. Jon, I spoke to Sam earlier today and apparently he is flooded out again! House and everything but despite all that still had time to talk about pros and cons of the processor, sound chap! Cheers Chris
  12. Where abouts are you in uk, and how much you asking for it roughly?
  13. Replied to all pm's. Cheers Chris
  14. Must admit I had never looked at the palax 35 but after looking having a quick scout round on the web it does look a good bit of kit I must admit! Could quite possibly be out of my price range at the minute though.
  15. Hmm that's what I was thinking to be honest. Take it off his hands to save it annoying him in the nettles!
  16. Hi all, Will be looking for our first processor in the new year, if anyone is thinking of renewing upgrading etc would be interested to know. Ideally haiki pilki 37 as can generally cut larger diameters than the circular saw versions etc. I am in West Yorkshire. Cheers Chris
  17. Not sure of this would be too far for you? http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/51869-chainsaw-operators-needed-castleford.html Just seen it. Not far from Leeds.
  18. I've found most stihls with the tool less filler caps do this. Although I have found if you clean all the saw dust and crud out of the hole where you poor the oil in the tank and around the o ring on the filler cap make sure it's all nice and clean it at least slows it and most times stops it altogether. Think the bits of saw dust just stop the o ring from giving a positive seal. Worth a try.
  19. So your saying the bigger diameter stuff should technically be cheaper to buy roadside? With it being cheaper to buy standing and quicker to cut and weigh more so load fills faster? Most of our firewood is cut by chainsaw and logs splitter so size doesn't matter to an extent.
  20. As per title. Been quoted £40/t for bars 8ft lengths and £48 for saw logs. Both delivered. Although only cutting around 10 - 15 miles away from me! Chap quoting was also saying £65 for hardwood! Is he taking the proverbial or what?
  21. To be honest I must admit when its working it seems to have plenty of power, only running on a 14'' bar but cuts well. I just cant understand what happens to it. Too much technology for my liking I'll keep using it for a while see what happens maybe once run in it will work better have to see (fingers crossed).
  22. Recently bought a second hand MS241 from a chap who had done a chainsaw course to start a business but then decided it wasn't for him. Saw is now out of warranty but has only probably done around 5 hours work and seems to be playing up with Mtronic carb. I've checked most things flywheel to coil gap, calibrated computer by running on choke for 60 seconds then switching off, pulled wires apart checking connections ok carb stripped (clean as a new pin). But I still seem to be getting problems. Problem is, it will start and tick over fine but when go into a cut sometimes not everytime it falters runs very rough and won't rev usually smells quite petroly as though its choking itself. Have to eventually let off throttle and go again and usually works fine, just flustrating from a new saw. Just wondered if anyone else had one and experiencing same issues? Also is it worth while contacting stihl although out of warranty with it being a new model saw is it worth trying them if only as feedback that its not very good?
