  1. That looks good for seeing thieves off!
  2. Haha is that because he's on peoples hit list for not allowing much work on tpo'd trees?
  3. From the looks of the picture it will be a nice climb once past the dead ivy, it looks like you will be able to rig the back side over the river and bosh the front in appropriate sizes, get a backup climber Encase you can't handle it but start it yourself. The only way your going to get experience on bigger trees is to get stuck in!
  4. These helmets are that good at protecting your head, this picture is actually a picture of a guy who was killed by the falling tree but his helmet wasn't harmed not even a scratch. I would love one of these helmets for thAt reason and the fact the look great BUT I cannot justify compromising my hearing for the sake of my face being identifiable when a tree falls on me and to look good in the process. I'm 24 in jan and if I use one of these bad boy for the rest of my career I'm bound to have problem when it's time to put my feet up. Also the use of earplugs is a no no for me as they just don't agree with me and I guess I'm stubborn in the way of not wanting to buy the most expensive helmet in the world and then having to add to it because it's not sufficient!
  5. So what your saying is you still want him to be in misfortune?
  6. Like I've mentioned in a previous quote I remember the thread about big j's dog and defiantly wouldn't say he was begging for money. He is a reputable arbtalker who frequently adds to the forum
  7. Like I say glad to here of her recovery. Rocky as it may seem still a recovery. I couldn't do without my little patterdale (lulu). Defiantly a mans best friend and daughters lol

  9. Hi I remember the situation with J and his dog, I love my dogs and couldn't think of being without them, didn't And still don't think Big J is out of order, infact I'm pleased for him he is encountering an influx of work and his dog is getting better. I would hope for the same outcome and the collective arbtalk as a community to help someone in need wouldn't we all!? He wasn't boasting about it just merely explaining he has high volumes of elm he needs rid of. P.s. I don't know big j infact never met him so don't think I'm just speaking up for a friend I just think you've had a few to many

    Smokers.

They have been told e cigs are still very bad for you and not to advise patients the e cig as an alternative to fags, also they were told the chemical content is higher with more dangerous chemicals that a normal fag such as rat poison and pesticides so without any research I can tell you now that's bad and if there unregulated atm then who knows what else they are fitting in there

    Smokers.

I don't smoke and never want to just thought I would share my opinion on the e cig. My girlfriend is a dispenser in a pharmacy and went on a course about these things and they were told nothing but bad news about them, they have more chemicals than a normal cig apart from the tar but not only that they are untested so really no one knows the effects on what these can give you. In my opinion they aren't any better just 'modern' so don't get sucked in about how wonderful they are.
  13. Have you tried the cinch? It can work under load so you don't need to take your weight off the device to move on it. Correct me if I'm wrong but should be fine single line as it was designed for belay. I use it on my lanyard and love it
  14. Thanks for all the help received I've finally got round to finishing it off
  15. Cheers silky, I've already got the ART cocoon on a homemade setup so I'll be sure to run the two together
  16. Looks like I'm the guinea pig then I couldn't resist getting one, never had the mk1 or 2 so all new to me, hoping to try it out tomorrow if it's not raining, I don't want it getting wet lol
  17. I've had 3 pairs of stihl hiflex thingys and rotate them, absolute rubbish, never again they just fall to bits at the seams, Velcro on pockets fall off, plastic zips fall off and even the stitches stihl badge rubbed off, most stihl products are going down hill. They just seem to compromising on quality but putting prices up how does that work?
  18. Carbon geckos here with full Velcro, next pair will be the Ali geckos with Velcro as I've herd there better for branch walks etc because of the thinner bit that goes under your boot. Not that my carbon geckos are stuffed, had them 4 years and still look and work perfect. Tip for the Velcro straps, keep them fastened when you take them off to stop dirt from filling the Velcro
  19. I agree with most posts here it is always best practice to check yourself if it's like my council website it takes 5 mins whilst stood at the tree. I learnt very quickly never to trust any customer as they don't care for you. Luckily I've never been caught out but have found a few lies along the way. As regards to the LA if there like mine also the cannot afford to take you to court, I'm friends with my TO and he told me a story about a family ring barking some big beech because they were denied permission to remove and the council couldn't do anything about it, saying that I would just meet up with the TO and explain yourself and offer to replant
  20. Haha it was in answer to Iain H asking how much you wanted for it
  21. I like how instead of wrapping your finger up you thought to take a picture for arbtalk haha
  22. What's with so many cheesy US program's on the TV at the minute?
  23. Depends if you want to break your washing machine or not? The harness will be fine on a 30 degree wash can you not take the padding off and wash that like on the tree motion?
  24. Why when did I mention used nests in nesting season?
